Excellent location. Beautifully decorated. The bed and pillows were very comfy. Loved the shower and enjoyed the private hot tub. You can walk to the downtown area and walk to Sprouts grocery. It's close to a few restaurants so you can get a bite to eat when you arrive.

At times we heard the people in the adjacent apartment.

"We dug it. She wants to go back there."

8.0

Central, not secluded. (What we wanted, and in no way a surprise.) Look on Google street view if you don't know the lay of the land and want a sense of the surroundings. Lots and lots of stuff right here ready to hand without having to drive. Outdoor hot tub is big, clean and has powerful jets.

First, an admittedly minor grievance. Maybe really minor: Host specifically requested communication before using hot tub (promising detailed instructions when asked), but then seemed oblivious to my message asking for same. No matter, as the hot tub was self-explanatory to use, and quite nice, besides. Still, it seems like it might be better for the host NOT to invite such a dialogue about the property's amenities if they aren't going to follow through on it. Whatever, oversights happen--perhaps I am being unkind. Having gotten my Karen-ing mostly off my chest, this is a very pleasant and well-appointed hideway right in the middle of the action. Centrally located as can be, surprisingly quiet inside for being right on the main drag. No fishbowl effect, though not a great deal of natural light either. The cozy back patio might as well be in another, much more private neighborhood altogether. The skylit-bedroom is unexpectedly big and the bed comfy. Nothing was overlooked, the stacked washer & dryer--right between kitchen and bath--a huge plus. Overall, the apt was quite clean, snug and secure. There is a low-key-GREAT family restaurant, Santa Fe Bees, about 20 paces away across N Guadaloupe. And I mean excellent, real-deal Mexican-American food, inexpensive, ordered at the counter, not at all fancy. And even more nice places abound. For example, two minutes away there's the more snazzy Cafe Catron for breakfast, with sit-down service on the tucked-away patio. Local folks recc'd even more highly a bakery/breakfast joint just up Guadaloupe, Dolina's, said to be effing fantastic, not open Tues tho. Next time maybe. Georgia O museum is a couple blocks from here and the Plaza district not much further. A sneaky--good short-term rental and a value for Santa Fe. The hosts seemed sincerely helpful. Recommended.

"It was very disturbing to have a hose to act this way. It could easily have been handled and a much better way with a lo"

5.0

It was attractive and comfortable, quiet and clean.

There was a filthy AC filter left on the patio table, and an open filter louvered metal door hanging down from the dining room ceiling. The broken ceiling fan was on the patio floor near the hot tub. The front door has an electronic lock, which worked fine the first day, but then it began to malfunction. The owner insisted there was nothing wrong with the lock and set it to automatically lock after two minutes. But because we could not trust it to lock and unlock, Good idea we had to leave the back door unlocked whenever we went out. It was worrisome. The Keurig needed to be descaled so it would work again. The owner became very verbally abusive and nasty in his messages. It was completely uncalled for and not like any host anywhere in the world that we have ever encountered. Aside from being not a way to behave in his own intelligence self-interest, it was completely repellent to any guest there. Beware of any communication with him. Also photograph anything you find that isn’t working right or isn’t in order when you arrive on the property.
