A very cosy and friendly place to be. Lorna is a very engaged host and makes you feel like home. If you don't like it here, you probably haven't understood the meaning of travelling. We loved the beds, and even more the breakfast with cordial company. Thank you!

Very good breakfast and location

Lorna our host was lovely, friendly and chatty. Breakfast was excellent and she cooked bacon and eggs and tomatoes for us. Comfy bed, lovely view to the harbour across the road, all home comforts. No other guests so we had the bathroom to ourselves. Lots of ‘putting places’ although needed to move stuff first as I think Lorna likes collecting beautiful objects!

Weak WiFi and there was no hot water in the taps in bathroom or bedroom, but the shower was fine with hot water.

Lorna was an absolute wonder during my stay in Helmsdale. She was warm, welcoming and incredibly helpful at finding me a dog sitter for my pup. When the dog sitter fell through, she and her partner offered to watch pup for me. They were so lovely! Lorna's home is uniquely decorated and brimming with diverse and interesting ornaments and furniture. It's in a fantastic location right on the harbour and a short walk from the beautiful John O'Groats hiking trail. The shower room, while not ensuite, was very pleasant. And I loved the healthy breakfast options and chats with Lorna :-)

Very comfortable place located on a beautiful harbour. Very easy going vibe as Lorna is a great hostess. Great location for walking around town and up the coast trails.

All good. Wish we had booked a few more nights.
