Casa dos Pedros (Beach House)

We loved Casa dos Pedro’s! The beach house was modern, super clean, and well equipped with everything we needed. We especially loved the roof top patio where our family gathered to have dinner, play games, and watch the amazing personalities of the ocean and sky! Our host, Bruno, was incredibly accommodating, letting us check into the property early and providing us a week’s itinerary, by day, of things to do and see on the island. A couple of small markets at the end of the street for essentials made things very easy.

Some lounge chairs on the roof top patio for sunbathing and some small folding chairs to take the beach would have been a bonus. We hoped for a greater selection of cafes and restaurants in walking distance of the property, but we had a rental car and found plenty just a short ride by car.

Maison toute équipée et confortable située directement en face de la mer. Les levers de soleil étaient incroyables. La localisation centrale était parfaite pour visiter l’île. Bruno était disponible et très avenant. Sans contredit, une des meilleures propriétés que nous avons louées.

No Breakfast available, but the location of the home was good, but the view looking out to the ocean and surrounding area was wonderful.

We absolutely loved the view and the location of the house, right next to the ocean and just steps away from the best beaches in Ponta Delgada, which are super clean and perfect for snorkeling. The house itself is beautifully furnished, well ventilated, and has everything you could possibly need, including AC in every room. It also has a wonderful rooftop terrace, perfect for relaxing. We couldn’t have asked for a better stay!

Emplacement très pratique car central sur l'île. Le rooftop est exceptionnel. La maison est conforme au descriptif. L'équipement est de qualité.

Quelques équipements manquent pour cuisiner (petits couteaux, pannier à salade). Le terrain de jeu devant la maison est souvent utilisé ce qui peut être un peu bruillant le soir.

Big home, lots of space for family and guests, close to town, beaches, and restaurants, relatively easy parking.

Mattress in our bedroom wasn’t the best. Would be great to have a grill on the rooftop terrace to be able to cook.

The property might have looked nice in pictures, but in reality, it was a nightmare.

**Terrible Experience - Avoid at All Costs** We booked this villa *Casa dos Pedros* on São Miguel in the Azores 7 months in advance, paying $4,400 for a 6-night stay. The pictures and reviews looked good at the time, but our experience was nothing short of a nightmare. After a long and exhausting trip from Madeira, we arrived in São Miguel at 7 AM on August 24, as planned. We had been up for more than 24 hours with 5 people and a mountain of luggage. We had arranged our early arrival with Bruno, the property manager, but when we landed, we had to wait outside for an hour, only for him to show up with no apology and a patronizing comment: “Why haven’t you visited any breakfast cafes I sent you?” He expected us to wander around at 7 AM with all our bags after a sleepless night. Unbelievable. When we finally entered the house, we were hit with an overpowering stench of mold and dampness. It was unbearable and felt as if everything was soaked in fungi. One of our party members has asthma and another has allergies, so this was a serious health risk. The smell was nauseating. We told Bruno immediately that we couldn't stay under these conditions, but he acted like this was the first time it had been an issue—something we later found out was a lie based on other reviews mentioning the same problem. We asked for a refund and to cancel the booking, but Bruno quickly locked the house, said we could cancel through Booking.com, and left us standing outside. What followed was a nightmare. Bruno falsely claimed we had "verbally abused" him and refused all requests for a refund. He blocked all our numbers and cut off contact completely. We had to call the police just to get him on the phone. Even then, he refused to give us access to the house we had paid for, leaving us stranded, exhausted, and without anywhere to stay. One person in our group was so upset they immediately flew home, cutting their vacation short. It wasn’t until the second day that Booking.
