"Ladies Autumn Break"

Once you have located back entrance through garden everything was great. Fabulous location with spectacular views over the river. House was spacious with everything we needed. You enter ground floor from garden which is hallway and lounge and there are spiral staircase going up to the 3 bedrooms and bathroom and going down to a very large clean kitchen. House is also on a hill, no problem for able bodied. Great find, we were all delighted with our choice.

The ensuite for the two bedrooms are a shower and wash up bowl, no toilet. This wasn't a problem for us as there is a toilet located at each of the 3 levels. The bathroom has a bath (with shower).

"Lovely, large house in Shrewsbury."

9.0

Location was perfect. Plenty of room. Good to have one toilet on each floor. Three showers in total. Reasonably well equipped kitchen. Beds comfortable. Plenty of hangers. Good family lounge. Overlooking River. Hot water for shower.

Pillows were too flat. Would have liked a toilet in the ensuites. Couldn't quite get the heating controls to temperature at times. Maybe a little more crockery would be useful.

"idyllic location on the river and near to town"

9.0

idyllic location on the river and very close to the town centre. Beautiful views from the balcony. Gorgeous garden too although a shame no seating and table broken. Kitchen is well fitted and lounge is airy and comfortable. 3 large bedrooms. zip lock beds unfortunately for the doubles but apart from that very comfortable. a bit odd that no toilets in the onsuite so more shower rooms than enquires. There is a toilet on each floor. wouldn't stop me staying again buy I think you need to know in advance. it may not be suitable for everyone. booking team were very helpful.

Seating on the balcony could be improved. There is only an old 2 seater which when the house fit 6 is a bit poor. there were 4 of us so we brought the chairs out of the lounge. a bit of a faff getting them in and out though. no seating at all on the downstairs terrace. Blankets would be a useful/ nice touch for on the balcony or in the lounge. hairdryers would be nice a hand towel each rather than 1 between 2. not ensuite bathrooms but ensure showers only. slightly misleading.

"Glorious three-story riverside living in an historic property below the castle walls"

10.0

Striking, spacious, architect-designed conversion of an historic riverside warehouse. Amazingly central location with lovely direct river views from the balcony. Great kitchen-dining room and cosy bedrooms. Fun and funky architectural details and furnishing.

The heating wasn’t working on the top floor but managing agents quickly found a work-around.

"Worth it"

9.0

Insane location in the heart of town. The views of the river from the 3rd floor where the bedrooms were are breath taking. The whole house is impressive. 2 balconies, the garden, comfy beds, plenty of space. Also when we contacted the property management and they were very responsive and very helpful

The only buts were the fridge was a bit rundown. with some shelves missing. And the big but is that we did not have a table in the garden, it was broken. But apart from these things we were very happy with the house. Definitely recommend

Nothing other than the location

Overall, a disappointing experience for the price. Not what we had hoped for. Locating the property was the first challenge. The literature referred to “Riverside View” but the property signs all referred to “Watergate House”. On entering the property, there was a strong fusty smell (damp?) which persisted throughout our stay. The overall feel was of a “tired” holiday let, in need of an upgrade in many areas. The old, eclectic furniture and appliances gave the impression of having been bought at house clearance auctions. Pros: - Beautiful property, in terms of location and layout. Spacious, impressive layout around a well-lit spiral staircase. So much potential - The hard floors were clean, as were the bedrooms Cons: - Furniture grubby, sticky in places. Greasy, sticky marks on sofas, coffee table, windows, and some appliances. - Dirty windows - Cracked plastering around one of the windows in the kitchen - Blinds not working in the kitchen, this is a ground floor space with large windows so passers-by could see in – no privacy. - Covered chairs in kitchen – fabric yellowing - Kitchen under-equipped for a large, 3 bedroom let. Mish mash of glasses and drinking mugs – most are freebies received when buying easter eggs. - Old appliances and unsightly (broken washing machine) that could not be used. - The use of cabled socket adapters everywhere - Furniture heavily marked and damaged - Soft furnishings dirty - Garden chairs being used for dining chairs in living room area - Discoloured carpets in reception areas and bathrooms. Seen better days. Debatable as to whether there should be carpets in the bathroom of a holiday let. - Lots of Paper ball light shades some of which had big holes in them. - No frosted windows in the bathroom – could not use this room for showering - No toilets in the ensuite room - Fusty smell throughout - External areas require some attention e.g. broken table supports in the garden - Some areas of the house, kitchen cupboards and wardrobes b
