Lago Resort - Best Views in Kisumu

As the title says, this place really does have the best views in kisumu! Beautiful... I could happily stay and work here for a long period of time if work allowed! Shower was good, beds comfortable with mosquito net. Lovely garden and friendly staff.

Although booking.com said free breakfast, there are not facilities on site for breakfast or evening meal. Luckily we had our camp stove with us so we could cook dinner and make something in the morning. The host kindly went to bring some vegetables and eggs for us. Electricity and wifi not stable so we almost had a bit of a disaster work wise... But understand this was out of the hotels control.

I loved the reception...I loved the calm of the environment..I loved the warmth of the people around...I loved the openness and kindness..loved the serenity of the place ❤️ ♥️

The location is a bit tricky to get to and to leave especially if you don't have your own transport but once you get there...its all worth it

The view is great

The place is very basic, rustic and neglected, far away from anywhere and difficult to access. Little food options, onsite restaurant could barely be called operational.

Absolute tranquility in the suburbs of Kisumu! The private bed and clean washroom were exceptional for the price point that's attractive for budget travellers.

With the tranquility and view, Lago Resort is isolated. Be prepared to hike through a rural district for a couple of kilometres before getting to a main road with matatus.

The road to the resort is too long and its not indicated during booking .. The road that is in the maps is impassable and you aren't given this information before booking. I found it a little bit dishonest... Really ruined my stay there

The views

There is mold everywhere (even the fridge). We had breakfast and that night the cups and leftovers were still there. There were couple of times were it seemed we were disturbing their family life (we were the only ones in the hotel). No cleaning at all. It’s so far away no taxis wants to take you there unless their friend Robert who will charge you double.
