USWalking around the grounds was nice.
Staff was a little terse. When we told him we were floating the Chama river the next day, he said we couldn't do it. He didn't know about the dam release and that hundreds of people do it every weekend. It's a big deal and people come from hundreds of miles around to do it. We had a similar experience when we asked him about a local restaurant. He gave us a snarky response.
USUSOwner and staff were extremely kind and friendly. We found out a lot about the history of the place. Owner's wife decorated the common areas with a great flair. I didn't know that I had to cancel a room due to a family member's illness. I had cancelled with the owner. He went out of his way to help us out of a jam. Please be nice to him, as he was very helpful.
USUSThe room was typical of any motel room. It was clean but the bed was a bit too soft for my likens. The best part was the owners who lived on the property. Friendly and attentive.

The bath water was scalding hot. I couldn't take a shower. Couldn't figure how to turn down the temperature.
USRoom was comfortable and spacious. The location is peaceful and charming. Breakfast was very good, especially the coffee. The staff were amazing. The registration office and the breakfast area are delightful. You can walk down by the river in the hotel grounds. Loved it.
There was nothing to dislike.
