Villa Holmen 2 - Ground floor apartment

It's a beautiful little town in a picturesque fjord setting. The apartment is great, very close to the dock. The bedroom is separate from the kitchen and family room (if you have kids).

The wifi was out which made it difficult to book a boat out the next morning. But that wasn't the host's fault.

The location was great. Local streets offered plenty of restaurants, groceries, and public transport. We walked everywhere and loved being close to the Vondelpark and museums. The bathroom was large.

Although authentic to Amsterdam, the steep stairs to the second floor front door and the stairs to the bedrooms were a very steep and a little scary. The minimal kitchenette was only good for breakfast as it needs to include a microwave or toaster oven. I couldn't get the TV to work (annoying but not a big deal), and instructions in English for the clothes washer and dryer would have been really helpful. We couldn't get the dryer to work at all (it shut off after 10 min.)

Cool interior design, very cosy. Had some kitchen staples such as coffee which was nice. Easy parking. Great location.

It was October and it was nice to be able to light a fire in the wood stove.

Location was nice, convenient to explore town or hike in the nearby hills.

Could have been a little cleaner on arrival, but pleasant.

Location just back from the front was quiet and convenient

It was very well cleaned, linen freshly washed, there was the chance to do the recycling of the rubbish and there were the cups for espresso coffee (extremely important for Italians 😉). The umbrellas at the entrance are a sign of warm welcome.
