Wilton Retreat- Hot tub, Pool table, Parking

Shower was leaking into the kitchen( evidence that this had happened before as ceiling was cracked an no bulbs fitted) meaning we could not shower after a 6 hour drive on a very hot day. Tv did not work. Wet washing in dryer that smelled, dirty washing in washing machine that also smelt.

The location was great.

Given wrong key code to get in, so had to flap and ring after 7 hours driving. The property is filthy, badly maintained. The garden looks neglected. Bins over flowing. Look like they haven’t been touched for weeks. The kitchen back door had a crack in it. There were stains all over the pull out bed, the bedding. No duvet covers for the spare dirty duvets. Thick mold in the bathroom. A hole punched in the bathroom door. No lock on the bathroom door. Pictures ripped in the bedroom. Broken lights in all the bedrooms. Hot tub, was revolting, couldn’t see the bottom of the cloudy dirty water. Broken chairs. No batteries in the remotes, had to go out and get our own. Thick Limescale in the kettle. Dirty dishes. The fridge stank. Dodge floor board side of bed - main bedroom. Ripped net curtains in the front room. Someone’s dirty knickers left on the radiator in the bedroom.

Everything about our stay was perfect, stayed with my 3 children and they absolutely loved it aswell, will definitely be visiting again.

We had to select this property after our previously booked one was cancelled just a few hours before check-in. Booking.com suggested this as a similar alternative, so we went ahead with the reservation. Unfortunately, the WiFi was not available during our entire stay, and despite repeated assurances that it was being looked into, nothing was resolved, and we eventually gave up. In addition, neither of the TVs was working.

The overall cleanliness of the property was good, the kids liked the hot tub, when it was working

Upon arrival from the outside, all seemed fine, nice, quietish area. but when we went into the property, there was a strong smell of cigarette smoke. I then went outside and found broken glass all outside the back door and a bottle bin with empty wine bottles in. For a property that states no alcohol at all, I found this very strange. There was also alcohol left in the kitchen cupboards! There was no tin opener, which I feel is a basic amenity, there was also an excessive amount of trinkets in all the rooms, although lovely and if the kids were older wouldn't be a problem, we did have to move them all out of harms way. While doing so noticed that one was broken and just pushed together, very odd! When I went upstairs to check the bedrooms again initially all was great until I walked around the big bed and there's a floorboard missing under the carpet and nearly broke my ankle. In my experience it's not just about the things that you can see because of it was then this was a nice place. Unfortunately the smaller details have really really let the place down. Overpriced for what we got!!!!
