Crimson Resort and Spa - Mactan Island, Cebu

Well maintained facility. Azure club has great vibes and good food choices.

Dissent have a real beach. Quite far away from any main area. Lack of wait staff service near the pool. Lastly, very limited options in the breakfast buffet.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Crimson Resort. The resort is beautiful and besides our first day which was the Easter holiday weekend also not very crowded. The pool is quite nice although it the water was quite warm due to the weather and it’s not very deep 0.9 m for the kids portion and 1.2m for the remaining. So it’s more for chilling in the water than actually swimming. There is also a beach at the resort which is a nice place to lounge. The water itself is quite rocky so you want to bring swimming shoes for this. However, we were able to see different fish there while swimming which was very cool. We had a garden room and it was quite nice. Spacious and with a very comfortable king size bed. The rooms are not very well noise insulated though. We had children next door and one of them had a fit in the middle of the night doing a screaming match with their parents. We were able to hear everything very clearly. The resort has multiple restaurants for Enye and Aka reservations are recommended. These are more expensive and Enye even has a Michelin star. The food prices general in the resort were resembling European food prices. For Enye and Aka we paid around 2000 - 4000 Pesos per person for a dinner. The food however is also really good (we loved the paella negra - so creamy and the beef tataki, so in our opinion it’s worth visiting. Other than that you have Azure Club and Kalma for snacks and more casual dinner with ocean view. Here the food was also solid although their grilled fish was outstanding and in my opinion much better than the international dishes I had there. We paid here around 1000 to 1500 pesos per person for a dinner. The service is overall very attentive and good! Although sometimes they seemed to be a bit confused if something is in stock on the menu and service at azure was sometimes a bit chaotic if the restaurant was full. Service in aka and Enye is super attentive though. We also visited the spa for massage treatment which was great.

While the food options were quite good I was missing an option to purchase some quick snacks like a protein bar or some fruit. Ordering the snacks would always take half an hour and I would have really liked to sometimes just grab a quick bite. While they did have some snacks it was mostly unhealthy such as chips or cookies. Also, we did not venture out of the resort but if I understand correctly there is nothing nearby in terms of walking. To get to supermarkets or restaurants you would have to take a taxi. While for the duration of our stay that was fine, it’s a bit annoying for longer stays to have limited food choices. So maybe pack some snacks yourself beforehand.

Everything was top notch. Our stay was only for two days but we wished a longer stay. In future definitely staying for at least a week to enjoy all the amenities. Fabulous customer service
