Nice rooms and bathrooms, staff were nice and friendly.

Rooms are very hot, the Red Lion does provide each room with a fan to compensate for how hot the rooms get.

It’s a great location for the village for when we visit family.

We’ve been staying at The Red lion since 2016. It’s always been great but this stay was disappointing. The breakfast was bland, scrambled egg tasteless and neither me or my husband ate our meals. No fruit to add to the yogurt just whole apples and bananas. Who wants to faff with that. Where were the strawberries, raspberries etc… Lazy and cheap. We had one towel between us. I went to reception 3 times but there was no one there. I eventually rang the out of hours number provided but no answer. I left a message. It was ignored so we had to share a towel. We don’t even do that at home!!! Shoddy service. When I spoke to reception the next morning her response was ‘ oh we’d give you a free breakfast but as you’ve already paid there’s nothing we can do’ Unbelievable. We won’t be returning. Poor food, poor service and a dark room with a view of a hedge. ( room 11… avoid!!)

We’ve stayed here many times before.we come back because we know that the rooms (upgraded) staff and food are good.

A beautiful room...clean and comfortable and attractive.

The chef doesn't know how to cooka rare sirloin ! The grill /griddle/pan whatever was not hot enough. The steak was an unappetising grey colour...no caramelization/ charring on the outside which greatly enhances the flavour. A much hotter surface would still have allowed the steak to be served RARE...which it was not!! And not seasoned before service. Very below average !!

The food is good quality and choice , the staff are very freindly. Of us it is in a good location.
