Carlton Hill House - 5 Bedroom House with Parking

Beds were super comfy. House was spotless. Top quality furniture, fixtures and fittings throughout. Really nice lounge and kitchen area. Great property - will definitely stay again.

It’s not so much a dislike, but the distance to the city centre and being situated on the main road.

Location, the property itself was superb, couldn’t fault it.

Very clean and very comfortable beds in the property. Great kitchen to cook with plenty of utensils. Lovely welcome pack great coms with the owner who was super speedy with her reply’s. Off road parking for 2 large vehicles as well .

Location was excellent and a short drive from the city centre and had a bus stop right outside along with plenty of shops. Collecting keys was via a key box so very easy to access however, parking is a major issue due to it being located on a busy road. The space for 2 cars is true if you drive a smart car or very small vehicle, I have a SEAT Ibiza and scratched all the front of my car trying to get onto the driveway. Once you are on the driveway, you then lose access to your passenger and rear passenger door because of how narrow it is (not ideal when you have a car full of children and stuff to get inside). Property was clean to an extent but damp throughout, smelt rather foisty throughout and could do with some updating. Cushions and bedding were also stained/marked which doesn't look great or fill you with confidence. Property was also very cold due to thermostat being located in the kitchen, meaning once we cooked dinner the heating wouldn't work as thought the house was 23°. We had 4 children with us and when asked the owner for help with this, was sent a video of them turning the thermostat up and advising us to do the same. Tried to advise it was not due to not being unable to work the thermostat but due to location of the thermostat that caused the issues, this was dismissed by the owners. Was offered a later checkout the following morning when I asked which was appreciated and helpful but felt the overall stay was not worth £880 for 2 nights considering we had no heating.
