The Cider Barn - Gorgeous Rural Escape Near Bath!

This was such a wonderful place. The perfect getaway for our little family. Our 18 month old loved the gardens and running around watching the birds and squirrels. It was so close to Bath that we could easily go in in the morning and come back for naps and go back out for the evening. Then when he went to bed, we'd have a soak in the hot tub and relax. Would 100% recommend to a friend.

A few extra towels would be great - the weather wasn't great for drying so even though we could wash stuff it was hard to get them dry before next use! We were able to roll with it but some better black out blinds would really help, the room was super bright from 5am so our baby was up from then, not a huge thing but if you're a light sleeper maybe bring an eye mask !

Beautifully decorated house and garden, as can be seen on the pictures. luxuriously outfitted spaces.

The second bedroom is really tiny, and so is the bed. Not comfortable for our 2 kids to share; can’t imagine for 2 adults either. Really a pity as the rest is all very comfortable. Outdoor furniture is just the table and 4 chairs. Despite the location in the country side, the roads aren’t very easy for a walk or run through the country side.

The quietness

Spacious, comfortable and well equipped. Hot tub with views over the countryside is such a bonus. Gorgeous picture window from the main bedroom - we saw deer and other wildlife cross the fields

Nothing. I did not stay. I got there and it was disgusting. So I left straight away and checked into a hotel.

Everything. The windows and wood were broken so water was coming through pretty badly. Spiders, bugs and cobwebs everywhere it was like a bush tucker trial. The pictures are not like the real thing. It is dated and not really cared for. The cleaning fee is extortionate as it was not clean it was disgusting! The fridge was even dirty 🤢! You should be able to message the property or property management company before booking. I booked to then contact and ask if they had any facilities for a 1yo. They did not. It should be stated this place is no good for a baby/family. The only reason I didn't cancel was because it wasn't refundable and it looked lovely from the photos. Please don't be fooled. Plus with all this is mind. I asked for a refund as this was not acceptable. I had to leave at 11pm at night to check into the nearest hotel with my baby and my dog and their customer service is appalling! They have ignored me for 2 days now after sending proof of all of the above but still being offered no refund. Absolutely disgusting behaviour from Red Kite Hosts! Avoid like the plague until major refurbishment works have been done and a new cleaner hired and the cleaning fee reduced!
