Haw thorn House - 2 bedroom, Ashington, Northumberland

Was good for 4 adults as there are 4 single beds, just what we required. Close to local amenities. A good base for doing all the stuff we wanted to do. WiFi was good, central heating and hot water and it was nice and clean. Will book this house again.

It was all good. Nothing bad.

Rooms were spacious and kitchen stocked with everything we needed. The beds were comfy.

The outside garden had piles of black rubbish bags piled up, which really did not look nice. The carpets were very worn. The WiFi would not work, despite trying to troubleshoot with the property owners, eventually gave up. Bathroom needs a make over.

On arrival it was difficult to find. Supposed to have on street parking, in reality it is on pavement parking. Can only park on one side of the road. The other side is double yellow lines. The key safe is worn, numbers can hardly be seen, particularly at night. The fire alarm had low battery and beeped constantly outside the bedroom door. Toilet was downstairs, carpet had sharp tacks sticking through in places. Property wasn’t the cleanest, bins outside full to brim and rubbish bags piled up beside them, couldn’t leave dogs out to enjoy garden as refuse an issue. Worst part of all was that thermostat was not working, and boiler had fault so NO heating in the property, place was freezing, arrived late Sunday night so couldn’t find anywhere else, but left first thing following morning as so cold. Notified owner asked for refund, they said they would look into it and get back to me, but they didn’t do this. Ended up having to complain to booking.com. Stayed at another property owned by Setiva Allan House the week before, it also had issues. Owners not interested in customer satisfaction, just want your money. Property not worth the cost. Travelodge is comfier.
