The Salty Monk Bed & Breakfast

Very good B&B, close to our eventual destination for a day with all the facilities and amenities we hoped for. Can definitely recommend the place and will return again.

There was a great choice of food on the menu for breakfast. Everything you could want to set you up for the day .

There was nothing not to like, it was a great place to stay.

Very comfortable room. Easy access to car park. Within walking distance of lovely pub which saved us taking the car out again in the evening. Great afternoon tea, and plenty of choice for breakfast.

Delicious (and huge!) breakfasts, comfy room and they provided us with a very nice dinner on the evening we arrived despite (i) the restaurant being technically closed and (ii) us not having booked or even enquired earlier, as we originally had other plans that fell through at the last minute. Truly service above and beyond.

Not a lot. Some of the floors are rather uneven, and one of the corridors had a rather musty smell, but in a building of this age the odd irregularity is almost inevitable.

Light room

Cramped bathroom with a light that came on automatically when entering the bathroom, this was very annoying during the night and could not be switched off! Also bathroom had very low doorway, not good for tall husband! Also breakfast has to be selected the night before! Really disliked having to decide what you want to eat hours before!

Great breakfast And everything you need in the room

Location, lovely woodland walk into Sidmouth. Stayed in Heather Suite with our dog which was perfect. Breakfast was fabulous and the tasting menu at dinner was amazing. Highly recommend.
