Eye on the Politeama - L'occhio sul Politeama

Great apartment in the center of Palermo. Very well equipped, clean and functional. Terrace and game room are an added bonus. Great contact with the owner. The apartment for both short and long stay. Thank you very much for the excellent comfort during our stay in Palermo.

The location was great. Just a short walk to the sites, lovely cafes and restaurants Spacious with a balcony and nice view. The lift was a bonus especially with luggage.

Minor but the lack of hand soap, washing up equipment and a drying cloth. As tourists, flying in, it means your forced to buy these basics on arrival but you have to leave them.

The apartment smelled of smoke upon entering: by leaving the windows open for 24 hours, we managed to reduce the smell (the cleaning people should have done that!). In addition, the washing machine had old clothes stuck in it. Finally, the plants on the balcony had not been watered and were dead ...

Location was central.

The apartment smelt like smoke even though we were assured that it was a non smoking apartment. It took a while for the air conditioner to work so didn't work well on a hot day and no black out blinds so impossible to sleep in. The sofa bed wasn't great but the bed in the bedroom was comfortable.

We really enjoyed our stay at Eye on the Politeama. It was exactly as described: a huge one bedroom apartment with a beautiful terrace overlooking the mountains. The bed was comfortable, the huge rain shower was heavenly and the kitchen was fully stocked with new pots, pans, cutlery... basically everything you'd need to cook a meal. I cannot fault the Sofia's House staff who checked in on us after we'd arrived via Whatsapp to make sure that we had everything we needed. I asked for an iron and ironing board and they were waiting outside the apartment door when we got back from our day out. Check in was very simple. We were Whatsapped detailed instructions of how to get into the building and what to do in terms of checkout as well. We also made use of their tour service and booked a private car out to Agrigento. Our driver, Daniele, was extremely courteous and is an excellent driver. I'd definitely recommend that you book a tour with them whilst you're staying in the apartment. Just a few tweaks would make this apartment an even better place to stay :) 1. In the kitchen, it would have been nice to have had a tea towel, some hand soap and some washing up liquid to get us started. 2. If the games room had blackout blinds or shutters we would have been able to leave the connecting door open in order to have air conditioning in the bedroom as the unit is located in the games room. We unfortunately had to choose between a hot bedroom or being woken up very early by bright sunlight.
