Colombo 07 Charming Home Stays

We loved our stay here we came back again a few weeks later.

An exceptionally clean and spacious room in a quiet and green area outside Colombo. The bed and pillows were lovely and comfortable, which made for a restful night. There was a fridge and small kitchen area in the room, with a kettle, cups, plates, and basic utensils. The room had a TV, fan, and air conditioner. The bathroom is modern, with a lovely hot and cold walk-in shower. Soap and shampoo were provided. There was a large lounge and dining area separate to the sleeping area, available for my use. There was also a lovely veranda / balcony off the bedroom, with a table and 2 chairs to sit on. Gayathri was friendly and welcoming, and we had a lovely discussion upon my arrival. Breakfast is provided, but I left too early in the morning to enjoy this lovely addition.

Comfy room filled with an added bonus of a shelf filled with books. Place Kept neat and clean including the bathroom. Breakfast was great. Special mention to the staff, Kavitha for being helpful. Location is very much residential and safe. Well connected by autos / cabs.

Wonderful stay in this guesthouse. The room is spacious, clean, and very comfortable. The hosts are very friendly. They speak excellent English, and Gayathri is always available, we had pleasant and interesting conversations. The neighborhood is quiet, and everything is easily accessible.

The room was very spacious and well equipped. The staff were very friendly and polite. The traditional Sri Lankan breakfast was great.

Everything from start to finish, from the spacious and comfortable room. The location is great, quiet and safe. Guyathri was kind and welcoming. An incredible conversationalist. She gave me a wonderful list of places to visit in Colombo. Ended my journey at Barefoot gallery/cafe. Highly recommend. Read a review about the blinds and there wasn’t an issue.

Nothing. One of the best homestays in all my travels. If there is room available do yourself a favor and stay here.

Unfortunately, when I stayed there with my family, there happened to be another guest in another room, a father and son, and the son is somewhat mentally not so stable (even my family felt he was acting a bit odd). The young boy tried to peep into my room from the balcony, and at that time, I had just taken a shower and was not dressed. It was quite a traumatising experience. I’m very grateful to the home owner (Gayathri) for taking immediate action once I informed her of the incident. She asked the father to keep his son in the room, under his observation. He should not be wandering in areas that are NOT part of their room. As I’ve shared with the home owner to really consider changing the window blinds because it is quite easy to see through the open spaces in between the blinds and into the room.

This is a very comfortable homestay where we were made to feel very welcome. The rooms are clean and large. We were heading off to the airport early in the morning so wouldn’t be there for breakfast so they made us sandwiches to take with us.

The location is slightly out of the centre but we preferred that location. Less than 500 rupees to get to station.
