Colombo 07 Charming Home Stays

The Location in Colombo was good, really calm and a good start for a Trip to Sri Lanka.

The bathroom was Not the best, a Bit dirty and old. It would have been nice to get bottle water for breakfast.

I booked 2 nights and extended, so in total stayed 4. I instantly felt comfortable and at home. The sheets, the bed, the room - all super clean, tidy, comfy and beautiful. I loved the common area as well to eat or to hang out. Breakfast was either local sri lankan or eggs and toast. I particularly loved the fresh fruit (fresh mango from the garden) and the sri lankan dhal and string hoppers. Everyone that I met in the house was super lovley, chatty and super easy-going. I will definitely come (infact already booked the same room ;) ) - so can highly recommend this place if you want to stay in a local house with a homey vibe. It was also pretty nicely located, you can easily reach everything within 10-15 minutes in the tuktuk. The street is quiet and chill, the area residential so super quiet as well. All I can say: enjoyyy :)

The staff were very kind and the room was super nice and comfortable, and the bathroom too it was nice to finally have a real shower without making the whole bathroom wet

The only small thing is there wasn’t much choice for breakfast as they served only curry and hopper, but i asked for scrambled eggs and they were awesome

The property is very pleasant, peaceful and clean. Despite being in a more residential area, it’s easy to access other parts of the city by walking or TukTuk. The owner is very friendly and available to help.

The Google maps location doesn’t correspond to the real location of the property - which got me a bit lost twice. Although, this can easily be fixed.

I believe it was OK for the money.

The pictures of the room do not depict the room we had our stay. The shower was very basic, there was no city view, and the entrance was not private.

Lovely guesthouse. The room was new, comfortable, and fresh - made for a good night's sleep with a comfy bed. Homemade breakfast was lovely, and both the hostess and her assistant were really attentive. There's also a shared kitchen and living area for guests, though we didn't use the kitchen ourselves.

The only downside was the cleanliness of the bathtub - finding some bug remnants was a bit off-putting.

The hosts are very welcoming and charming. I felt almost as if I was visiting family. I’ve had a number of interesting questions with Gayathri, the lady of the house.

Nothing.

Beautifully decorated and charming quarters set upstairs and separate from landlords home downstairs. My room was spacious with all the amenities and a very comfortable bed. The location was great for me - 5 minutes drive by tuk tuk to the renowned Barefoot Cafe, 5 minutes to Dutch Burgher Union, five minutes to fabulous shopping (Paradise Road, Urban Island, Cotton Collection), and a quick trip into the Centre). Close by (you can even walk) is the amazing Siddhalepa Ayurvedic Spa and the fabulous Seed Cafe). The owners and staff are truly lovely.
