Moda Wigan - Stylish 2 Bed Apartment Central Wigan

Good location. Suited our needs for a month long stay. Had a washing machine. Hosts were accommodating in allowing us to check in early. Once we had the heaters going the place warmed up and was pleasant on the coldest of days. Parking was plentiful. Lock box made gaining entry easy.

When the outlook is all the overflowing skip bins for the apartment complex the first impressions aren’t great. When this is combined with entering a freezing cold room that looks very spartan, the first impressions aren’t exactly glowing. Additionally, on closer inspection, the attention to detail with the cleaning was underwhelming which left us feeling the need to buy new dishcloths and sponges to wash the dishes and cutlery and wipe down the drawers and toaster of crumbs before feeling we could use the kitchen. For the amount paid and the length of time we were staying there wasn’t anything particularly done out of their way to make us feel welcome. (Previous places we’ve stayed similarly have provided a hamper of some breakfast foods and had the heaters on to make it feel more homely). The towels, bedding and pillows felt cheap; however the bed despite appearances was comfortable. The cluttered hot water cupboard felt like a dumping ground with stuff piled in there which enhanced the slightly disorganised, unclean vibe. The lack of comfortable seating in the living space was also noted as I’d seen others comment before. The couch is vinyl and the dining chair we pulled up as an extra seat wasn’t comfortable and so it didn’t have a very homely vibe. A rug to soften the floors would add to making it feel homely. Granted we were there for a longer time than I imagine others who book it would be there for so the lack of creature comforts was more apparent. For the length of stay we had we were self sufficient and there was no further contact from the owner and no restocking of consumables. I’d seen descriptions that it is a ‘serviced’ apartment but that is definitely not the case.

We only had back door key and no front door key , made it tricky when making a takeaway and an Amazon parcel .

- Lovely apartment, spacious. nice decor - Easy to access and sent instructions promptly good location, nice and airy feel.

-Wasn’t as clean as could be, there was broken biscuits in bedside drawer, floor felt sticky, cups utensils etc weren’t very clean neither was fridge. No bin liner in bathroom bin
