The Alma Taverns Boutique Suites Room 2 - Hopewell

The location was convenient and check-in was easy. The building felt safe, and the room looked like the photos at first glance. I also appreciated that they responded to my message and provided new linen when I reached out. (even though I didn't need new linen)

However, the overall cleanliness was poor. The mattress had no cover and visible stains, and the pillows and duvet insert were also stained - you could see it through the sheets. I contacted the property about this but was told to find a staff member in the building myself, which wasn't helpful as I left early and got back after the pub had closed. The clean linen didn't solve the problem. On top of that, the bathroom sink gave off a strong greywater smell every time I used it. For the price, I expected a much higher standard.

Easy to book, check-in, comfortable, great location for visiting this part of Bristol. Pub downstairs is also great.

The Alma Taverns Boutique Suites was a good choice for our overnight stay in Bristol. It was fairly priced and the room was warm and comfortable. Wi-Fi good. The pub itself was great fun with a good selection of cask beers. There wasn’t much of a food offering (only pizzas on a Monday night) but there’s lots of options within striking distance. They don’t serve breakfast, but there’s a basic ‘help yourself’ offering of cereal, muesli, milk and fresh coffee so it was fine with the addition of some fruit/yogurt of our own.

Parking is a bit of a pain if you arrive before 6pm (we parked in Clifton Down shopping centre) but it’s free from 6pm til 9am.

Hello, We stayed at the above from 11-13 April. We arrived at 4pm. Room size was fine. Was told wifi password was in room. Not the case. Walked down from 3rd floor (no lift). Was hand written wifi password by Ryan. Heater in room 2 did not work. Walked down to ground floor again. Spoke with Ryan who says he is just the "Supervisor" and that he passed the info on to his manager "Toby". Asked for someone to come and fix the heater but was told "perhaps the heater was on a timer". Not the case because the heater in the bathroom was working. Room was cold. The second night, someone had entered our room without permission and in our absence to fix the heater. We were also not aware there was construction taking place during our stay. Overall, the room and stay was a disappointment. I'd like a refund. Have not heard from anyone as was promised.

Very convenient location for me and good food available on the premises. Great atmosphere.
