"Great location, amazingly clean room, drinking water facilities would improve the stay no end"

There was only cereal - I would hardly call that breakfast. It should be advertised more clearly. Still no harm no foul

It would be nice to have access to a tap for drinking water as other guests often took all the bottled still water, leaving only the sparkling

Perfect location for our visit

Could be cleaner, electric lamp didn’t work, shower door was hanging off. Couldn’t tune in the Tv.

"Wouldn’t choose to use it again."

Staff were OK.

Milk was sour. Having provided milk and cereal for a quick breakfast, it was undone. Only one bottle of milk. The smell! Blind didn’t lift. Shower didn’t drain well enough, so had to keep turning the shower off mid-shower to stop the floor getting soaked.

"The accommodation was good, but could potentially be a whole lot better."

6.0

The room itself was cosy and the Hypnos bed comfortable. There was unlimited tea/coffee/fresh milk and bottled water (from a landing fridge and some cereal to help ourselves to. There was a small clothes hanging unit and two side cabinets plus usb charging sockets next to the bed. We availed ourselves of a decent fish and chip meal at the Alma Tavern bar/restaurant. The Alma is a quirky, lively place being within a licences premises and small intimate theatre (they were rehearsing a show when we checked in). Being musical types, we did not find this an issue although if one was looking for a quiet break, this might not be for you. Check in was via a code the girl in the bar issued us with so we were able to come and go freely. We were able to walk to the Redgrave Theatre for our planned event, so from that point of view it was perfect. The location was in walking distance of Whiteladies Road shopping area and close to Clifton Down Station (although we arrived by No 8 Bus from Temple Meads. (I would recommend the train unless you’re planning to your the city by bus as it has a tap in-tap out system.

Although we are fit and active 67 year olds, the twin flight of stairs might be an issue for those with limited mobility, so this should be highlighted at booking. Our only real gripe was that the shower had not been cleaned for some time and created an unpleasant smell in the ensuite. We have contacted Hopewell about this on checking out but have received no response, so felt I had to raise it in this review.
