Regrettably a smell in en-suite that just wouldn’t go away.

Our room (5) was over a cellar where they degassed the metal cylinders. This was on a cycle of pumping ALL night long, this was very noisy. There didn’t seem to be any attempt to sound proof. The cycle went through a quieter phase as I think the gas dissipated it was never quiet, when the noise dropped the sound of the cistern dripping took over. The shower although it appeared clean was badly blocked and backing up, the smell was past what one would call disgusting, it caused me to gag and nearly throw-up. As it was noise and sleep deprivation these were not therefore able to be photographed. The shower looked spotless, the water drained slowly the smell followed.

Had to collect key before 10pm as pub closes but was traveling up from London so family member collected key for us, staff were friendly and helpful in overcoming this problem only a little minor problem now I know
GBThe location was okay, and the food at the pub downstairs is good. A short-ish walk from the centre of Ashby, The rooms were clean and my room was well sized, especially for the price. There was free overnight parking.
- The double bed was actually two very tried and worn out single matresses pushed together. - There was a lot of noise from next-doors bathroom fan. - There was a refrigeration truck outside that kicked on its fans on a regular basis, being loud enough to regularly wake me up. This was intermittently on all night. - There was a crack in the bathroom mirror, that other reviews suggest has been unrepaired for going on a year.
