Merci Sunset Town Phu Quoc

The room looked exactly like it does in the pictures. The WiFi was good and the location was good too (with a bit of walking up the stairs). From our room, we could see the fire works and a bit of the kiss bridge.

The property has absolutely no room-service. You are on your own. Starting from check-in, the hotel does not have a reception so you call a number (that takes hours to acknowledge you). Some people waited an hour or more before being checked in. Once we got into the room, it was not well cleaned, the bed sheets and pillows were stained. The bathroom was the worst part — there was mold by the shower floor, the bath tub had very questionable marks too, it had a dried up brown stain inside and a strange brown one outside too so we never used it the entire stay. This is probably because the hotel doesn’t necessarily have a cleaning stuff, they just have two ladies “cleaning” the entire hotel. When we checked-in the tissue rolls were empty and the shower gel was finished so we had to go to Tony’s and get them because we were on our own. There is no cleaning services, not even someone to come collect trash. We did not even have a trash can/bin besides the small sanitary pads bin in the bathroom, so we had to buy plastic bags and ask the cleaning ladies to take them whenever they were full. The walls are also very thin, so you can hear your neighbors (just hope they aren’t loud, intoxicated and start arguing because Merci Hotel will not help you). Merci hotels should just call itself “Merci Apartments” because they are not a hotel. It’s so sad because the rooms themselves are aesthetically pleasing and comfortable (besides the dirt), the property has so much potential, if only it could be well managed/ran like a hotel.

Staff member, Vi, was amazing in helping me out with tickets for the water park and showing me the town. Communication was excellent

The hotel is still new and wasn't quite finished when I arrived, but this was just the reception area. My room was great and the lack of reception had no impact on my stay.

Vi the desk girl was so friendly and responsive. She even took me down to the ATM on her motorbike on my arrival. The room was almost new and had a huge big bath. Water was hot, television had cable. Walking distance to everything needed. Couldn't believe the price.

The room was lovely and clean with a big bathroom and big balcony which we could watch the nightly fireworks from.

Not really much of a reception or lobby, just a massive empty room, felt very strange. Sunset Town was like a ghost town so we were pretty sure we were the only ones staying at the hotel, which didn’t have much vibe or atmosphere

Can see firework from my room. Have bathtub in my room 😍 I think it’s new hotel, everything new.

The room is modern, clean, but surprisingly is in budget price. The owner even let me to check in early at 11 without any charge fee! I can see the kiss bridge from the balcony and everywhere can be reached by walking.
