Cinnabar Romantic Hideaway on Historic Walls

Lovely comfortable and cosy apartment. In quiet location and great for local shops, restaurants and pubs.

Clean, comfortable, beautifully arranged. All important information is communicated swiftly and a website is available with all info needed. The apartment is cozy, super warm with strong and hot shower. The kitchen part is well equipped. The book selection is amazing! Parking is permits only but quest permit is available for duration of stay. We had a lovely time!

Courtyard area outside was untidy and needed attention. Very off putting when we first arrived.

This really was the nicest self-catering place I gave stayed at. Beautifully decorated and spotlessly clean, it had all things needed for a relaxing stay. The location was perfect - tucked away in a quiet pretty square next to the town walls, a minute's walk from the harbour and beach. The communications and information from the owners was also excellent.

The location was great for me but it was at the bottom of a steep hill and a bit of a walk to public transport and the supermarkets, so if you are not fairly fit and don't have a car, it might not be ideal.

The location is in the quite end of town very safe, close to an independent coffee shop called Northern Edge Coffee, & an Italian restaurant called Limoncello both are very reasonably priced. The host Claire Anthony Homes have a digital walk though which is extremely helpful, especially for the oven. Property has a parking badge which ensures if you used correctly, you won’t receive a parking ticket. (Several cars on Palace Street were ticketed.) Dishwasher is a bonus for the size of the apartment. Overall clean apartment.

Started off as a slight niggle but over the period we stayed it become really frustrating which is not the fault of Claire Anthony Homes. Upstairs had 2 separate guest stays whilst we were there, of which both were noisy. More so the 2nd guests, running across the floor, banging though the night. Up and down the stairs talking extremely loud at the door, no consideration to the other guests at all. There is no number on the apartment entrance, and I couldn’t find any information to confirm which door Cinnabar was, so it was pot luck as to which key lock you tried. I imagine this would be the same with other guests. There is also no bin for No18. There was 21 & 17 only. The courtyard is not inviting at all there is bags of soil/compost as you walk in, we stayed in August so I would have thought it would have been usable to guests. First impressions count and this didn’t help then the added issue with there being no door number.

Closeness of property to Berwick upon Tweed. Walking distance to the historic town.

Wasn't sure which bit of the courtyard seating area was for Cinnabar use. Courtyard was a tad untidy. (it will be lovely when the b-b-q is finished).

The accommodation is very well located, close to all the main restaurants in the town. The hosts provide a parking permit for on road parking outside the accommodation which was perfect. Cinnabar is beautifully decorated and has everything you could need and more. We had a lovely stay and would love to come back in the future.
