Caledonian - Charming Central 1 Bed Flat

The hot towel rack did not work. We were too hot and requested a blanket but that was not provided.

Arrivée autonome grâce à la boite à clé et aux explications préalables de l'hôte qui étaient très claires. L'appartement est situé tout près de la station Haymarket. Le transfert depuis l'aéroport est très aisé grâce à la navette spéciale n° 100. Nous avions commandé nos billets de bus en amont sur l'application Get Your Guide et sommes arrivés en moins de 30 minutes à l'appartement qui se trouve proche des lieux touristiques d'Edimbourg. C'est un appartement très cosy et silencieux. Il est bien équipé et joliment décoré. On s'y sent vraiment bien et les petits clins d’œils des écureuils chaque matin rajoutent encore davantage au dépaysement. De nombreux commerces sont à proximité et nous avons fait nos courses au LIDL, à 600 m.

Le système de boîte à clé fonctionnait selon un mode différent du système français. Ainsi il est impératif de tourner le verrou vers la droite pour ouvrir le coffre, ce qui est totalement contre intuitif en France. La mise en route de l'eau chaude n'est pas forcément aisée et quelques ustensiles de cuisine supplémentaires seraient les bienvenus (une passoire pour égoutter l'eau bouillante, une cuillère de service, un micro-ondes...) Le canapé a vécu et son assise n'est plus confortable (très mou). Il serait à changer et une petite table basse serait appréciée pour profiter de l'espace salon. La salle de bain est étroite et il manque des étagères pour poser ses affaires de toilettes. Les températures étaient froides lors de notre séjour et malgré le chauffage dans l'appartement, nous aurions apprécié une couverture de plus sur le lit.

Lokacija labai gera, šalia (5min) autobusų stotelės , netoli yra ir stotelė į orouostą, maisto prekių parduotuvės irgi netoli. Iki centro 15min pėstute, su autobusu 3 stotelės tik. Butas jaukus,bet tamsokas. Raktus pasiimt paprasta ir patogu. Virtuvė pilna,wi fi geras.

Drėgmės kvapas bute labai jautėsi visas dienas , nors ir vėdinome kambarius. grindys nebuvo švarios, kilimas taip pat buvo nešvarus.

Comfortable bed, cozy living room and perfectly fine kitchen. Good communication with the owners :)

Took some time to find the location but I send a feedback and they will share the exact location with their following guests.

I thought the location was ideal. It was close to transit for arriving from the airport, the train if you're taking it, walking distance to the centre of town--I mostly just walked everywhere. It was also not on a busy road, so was quieter. I loved that it was a little cozy refuge where I could cook for my daughter and her friends when they came by, or just retreat to by myself when I needed a little rest from the busyness of visiting and exploring.

Coming from Canada, I struggled with the water heater for the shower, even though there are directions. Thankfully, my daughter has a similar one in her apartment so could sort me out. Also there was a little smell of damp in the bedroom, but maybe that's just how things go when you are by the sea.

The apartment is very spacious, with a full dining room/kitchen, bedroom and bathroom, with plenty of space in all three. The kitchen has everything you’d need to prepare meals. Shampoo and soap are provided so no need to bring any. Apartment is located very well, very short walk from tram and bus stops (and only 20m walk to town on foot), with a Tesco Express nearby with everything you need. Safe area, didn’t feel unsafe walking back in the evenings. Hosts were very helpful, responding quickly to any questions we had, and let up drop our bags early coming in from a morning flight. Great value for money, and the accommodation contributed to us having a very pleasant trip. If coming back to Edinburgh again, I would book this accommodation.

Minor nitpicks, nothing that really brought down our stay: The corridor into the apartment appears slightly sketchy the first time you enter, but after the first time going through, it’s not a big worry at all. One of the lights in the bathroom would flicker if turned on for the first time in a while, but it would settle after a minute. You need to make sure the door to the apartment locks properly, as you can close it without it locking, but as long as you check before leaving the apartment, it’s not a concern.

Heel fijn verblijf, op 25 minuten lopen van het centrum van edinburgh of de bus-, trein- en tramstation op ca 3 min lopen. Aankomst was fijn geregeld, alles was erg schoon en lekker warm toen we binnen kwamen (in oktober is dat erg fijn). Keuken leek kleiner op de foto maar was in werkelijkheid best groot. ‘S ochtends kunnen ontbijten met het zicht op een eekhoorn in de tuin. Erg fijn bed en beddengoed.

We lacked closets where you could keep your clothes. There are 2 closets but they were filled with cleaning supplies. We also lacked instructions regarding the shower function.
