Reine Basecamp - Apartments & Rooms

Well located cosy and comfy Basecamp. Everything was perfect with a fully equipped recent kitchen.

This is basically a hostel - don’t book if that is not what you are after. We booked a room with twin single beds. The room was so small we could barely put our backpacks down (note these backpacks are the size that go under the seat in a plane). The communal spaces were pleasant. The welcome from staff is limited to aggressive signs saying “pretty obvious rule - clean up after yourself” in the kitchen, despite no dish rack or other common cleaning equipment and seems to extend to an expectation of taking out all the rubbish from the all the bins. Or to keep the bathroom clean dry without a bathmat. It appeared to us to be attempting to get the benefits to the host of simultaneously a hostel and an Airbnb without the corresponding responsibilities.

I haven’t received any self check in instructions before I arrived. I could not use international call so the owner couldn’t be contacted. Finally one of the guest opened the door for me so that I can go inside.

Very nice place with everything you need. Clean bathrooms. I was lucky it was only me and one more person. Felt really comfy. With fast walking you can get to the begging of the hike Reinebringen iin 15min:) Northen lights were visible too!

Walls are really thin, room is small, but there are more positive things than these 2
