Clean, spacious, convenient location for Penn, nice neighborhood, proximity to shopping/restaurants, easy parking on the street. Polite and responsive owners/managers, resolved issues with WiFi.

While it’s a great location and the space has a lot of potential, there are some unforgivable issues that cause me to not recommend the place in its current state. The apartment itself has been renovated/flipped and has a wonderful bathroom for a city, especially the shower. But the building has issues. The apartment itself was mostly clean on arrival and it does have a very functional kitchen area. It’s a large space that could be a wonderful apartment!

The main issue is that the common area in the building is absolutely disgusting. It is dirty, fine, but it STINKS (smells like active water leak dank mildew smell), and there are constantly MANY, MANY black flies, fruit flies, gnats, and mosquitos in the common area. Example: open the building door and 10 black flies immediately try to attack your face. Because the door to the apartment is not sealed at all and because there are SO MANY bugs, we fought them not just coming and going but also all day and night inside the apartment itself. I alerted the host of this issue the first night, and it was ignored and not resolved during my stay. I’m leaving this review specifically to escalate this particular issue hoping it gets solved for the residents of the other apartments. The beds in the apartment are absolutely awful. Like the cheapest possible bed frame and futon feeling mattress. All of the ikea/dorm furniture in the unit has been well used/damaged to the point of needing replacement. Both bedrooms’ window blinds were severely broken and the sheer curtains provide no privacy in the bedroom. I had to put pillows up to provide the very much needed privacy because neighbors use their back doors and are right there at the window to the main bedroom. THERE IS NO HOOK ON THE BACK OF THE BATHROOM DOOR TO PUT YOUR TOWEL ON! Such an easy and cheap fix. Also the shower curtain liner desperately needs to be replaced with one that doesn’t try to wrap around you for your the entire shower. Lastly, the sheets on one bed were either not washed or stained to the point of replacement and not fully cleaned in the laundering cycle. Multiple hairs, something that looked like a (not excessive) blood stain, something that looked like a scab. Again I brought all these issues up upon arrival. Communication was poor/delayed and wanted us to manage the people coming to fix the issues/reset the WiFi for another apartment for them.
