a nice busy pub which suited our needs in a good situation and good amusing themes.

Such lovely hosts - I felt welcomed by them! It was great to have a private entrance from the regular pub and offering breakfast was a lovely touch. It would be great if breakfast could be on a little later for the later risers and I wasn’t sure if I could drink the tap water but apart from that everything was clean and I had no problems.

Lovely room and staff were very friendly and accommodating, we arrived early, and there was no problem storing our bags until check-in. The pub opens at 2 pm and doesn't serve food other than breakfast. Breakfast was good, we had full English breakfast, couldn't fault it. On a Sunday 8.30-9.00 is the window for breakfast. The location is excellent, right next to the harbour, and we parked on the Ropery Road car park, £9.50 for 24 hours.

Noise. We were very tired after our journey and there was a live band on. The band were very good and we were given ear plugs. On another day we'd have loved it but it's not for everyone. The pub itself looks tired, and you do wonder when you walk in what you've let yourself in for, but the friendly staff soon make you feel welcome.
