SIDOU INN - Onomichi

Well decorated. Large apartment. Two toilet rooms. Efficient air-conditioning.

No Windows. A bit hard to find. You must check in with the owners at a restaurant which is a few blocks from the apartment and can be cumbersome with bags. While the entrance is very cool, it’s very narrow and short.

Check-in was no problem. Pleasantly surprised by the size of the apartment. Great location, great value.

Cash only. The apartment is about a 6 minute walk from where you check in at Dashi-to-Su but it took us longer than it should have to find (lol). It is located directly across from Onomichi Ramen Shoya. The entrance is pretty cramped and getting luggage in was almost a challenge. Once you're in, it's great!

Very fascinating design, merging traditional and contemporary architecture. Loved the small details in the house.

Not very functional for the elderly. Lights and air-conditioning were a bit difficult to figure out.

The apartment is beautifully renovated, the entrance is super fun, and the facilities are brand new. Highly recommended! The photos do not do it justice at all.

It is very beautiful, very clean, very modern but at the same time absolutely traditionally Japanese, shoji screens, tatami mats etc.. They obviously put a lot of money into this place. One room has a beautiful kimono on display in an alcove. Also, it’s in a very convenient location with regard to the waterfront and a main covered shopping street. The neighborhood is full of interesting little restaurants, and is a pleasant 20 min stroll from the train station. We needed help finding it but afterwards we really appreciated it and its location.

Great to stay in a traditional yet modern apartment. Excellent location.

It’s a bit of a nuisance to have to organise cash and to meet at the restaurant. It was worth the inconvenience however.

The design was amazing. Really gives the feeling of an authentic Japanese house. Owner was very gracious and welcoming. The apartment had everything we needed.

It’s too expensive for a couple and you have to check in in a restaurant that is 5min away from the apartment location. Weird smell at the entrance and the door is super super small if you have luggage with you..
