Great location and nice decor. The hotel staff were friendly and polite.

We had a mixed experience during our stay. The hotel room was understocked—there weren’t enough glasses or toilet paper. To make things worse, the shower door broke on the day we were checking out. The most troubling part of the trip, however, was an experience at a small store across from the hotel, likely called Goody Mart. I purchased a Chinese cough medicine there, and the way I was charged felt dishonest. There was no price tag on the item. At checkout, the cashier entered the price as ¥11.00, which normally refers to 11 Chinese yuan—less than $2 USD. But I was charged $11.00 USD instead. When I questioned the Chinese owner afterward, he admitted the medicine is cheaper in the U.S., but claimed it was more expensive in Cambodia. He even said that if I wanted a lower price, I should go to China and buy it. This explanation was not only dismissive, but also made no sense. Cambodia has a much lower cost of living than either China or the United States. There is no logical reason the same product would cost more here—unless the pricing is intentionally deceptive. His attitude came across as arrogant and exploitative, and the lack of transparent pricing was concerning. I strongly advise other hotel guests not to shop at Goody Mart. Thankfully, there’s a good pharmacy and another supermarket nearby—both honest, well-stocked, and reasonably priced.
