Grand 2 Bed West End Residence

Beautiful place, nice for families and pets.

The best things about the flat are the location and space. The beds were surprisingly comfortable. It was good to be able to bring the dog with us.

There's a lack of maintenance: kitchen cupboard doors/drawers need adjusting, the drain to the smaller en-suite is blocked. The 2nd bedroom is absolutely freezing. We reported the faults and some were fixed. However the drain remained blocked - the main en-suite isn't great for showering. We left early and were offered a discount - still waiting 3 weeks later.

L'appartement est totalement délabré. Il ne correspond pas du tout aux photos qui ont été retouchés. La deuxième chambre est bien petite. Il fait froid et l'eau ne s'écoule pas le salon principal. Les meubles sont dans un salle état, le confort et l'appartement dans l'ensemble reste à désirer. Je déconseille fortement. Le ménage était totalement à désiré et quelqu'un est venu en notre absence également pour faire des tournées de machines car il doit y avoir plusieurs appartements gérer en même temps.

Beautiful flat

What a lovely property, it's more than a century old! Architecturally beautiful old place, convenient neighborhood, close to restaurants, cafes, parks. The place was spotless, linens were nice (and I'm fussy when it comes to bed linens). And the place was very spacious with lovely views. I would definitely stay there again.

The dining room table was a little wobbly.

Whilst being in an excellent location, there were a number of factors with this property that led to a pretty disappointing experience for us. Overall there was difficulty for us in identifying who was responsible or cared for this property, one or two of our e mails or text queries such as about parking, remained unanswered. The property at £300 a night was not cheap and the standard of accommodation, whilst clean, (hats off to the cleaner whoever you are) just didn’t match up to our expectations . An impressive building yes, but decoratively and practically, the accomodation lacked care and attention in our experience, eg some fixtures and fittings were in need of repair and renewal, carpets, lighting etc, whilst microwave and shower doors were very difficult to open. Don’t want to criticise unfairly so best described generally in a previous review as being more ‘style than substance’. Our perspective was best summed up by first impressions of opening the entrance door to find a tumble drier conspicuously positioned outside of the kitchen, in the main room, it seemed to us more student than luxury accomodation. With very well equipped hotels in the same area at a similar price, in our view this property needs some tlc to bring it up to an equivalent standard. We never write reviews but felt the need to this time as this experience was very disappointing for us. Loved Glasgow though!

Location was excellent. Nice and spacious in the property

1. I emailed the host on 2 occasions enquiring about parking; the 2nd time was some weeks later and I also enquired about an early check-in - which I got a response to. I was offered early check-in at an additional cost. 2. I arrived at the property at the check-in time of 3.00pm and the cleaners were still on site - this was utterly unacceptable- I only got into the property at 3.30pm, so I should be compensated for this - mainly due to the fact that I would have been charged if I wanted to check in early, not to mention, that clearly would not have been possible. 3. In the small bedroom - the toilet was broken - water continuously running - which resulted in disturbed sleep - I contacted the host on the 2nd day and they did not get anyone to fix this - they gave me a DIY tutorial on how to mend this - and did it hear anything from them for the duration - they advised I could turn off the stopcock - I could not locate this and they did not know where it was in the property. 4. There was no surface spray or cleaning cloth in the kitchen 5. No welcome pack, explained what to do with the bins, and what the wifi password was 6. Dirty dishwasher on arrival and the tumble dryer was on with towels in it 7. Shower door in small bedroom did not close leading to water pooling outside the shower 8. Several loose fixtures and fittings - very loose main tap in kitchen and dishwasher does not shut/open properly as it keeps catching the kick space below, badly.
