Beautiful old building in lovely grounds/gardens. Staff extremely friendly and helpful. We were allowed into rooms early to get ready for wedding. I had asked for one to be ready and was prepared to pay for early check in. However, all 3 were ready and no charge was made. So so kind. Breakfast plenty of choice , self service , eat as much as you like. Room comfortable, clean and good size. Marquee where wedding reception held was spacious, light, warm with great outside seating areas as well.

Bit difficult working out where everything was and how to get to them. Ie. Access to some bedrooms were via outside . Got very very lost trying to find the Marqee for the wedding reception. A bit more signage required and trimming of bushes to expose the way clearer would have helped. Otherwise no complaints. Had a wonderful day at wedding and stay overnight.

Fantastic grounds, small and friendly and great value for money. It’s a traditional hotel in an old building, so a bit of a maze but the rooms and fittings are high quality, the grounds are lovely and it feels peaceful. Not much more expensive than more modern budget chains, but worth the small amount extra for being able to feel much more relaxed and having a treat. Rooms exceptionally clean and spacious. Staff seem to take a pride in the hotel and their work.

Staff were all friendly and helpful.

No lift so we had to carry suitcases down long corridor and upstairs. Whole place was clearly originally well appointed but now looking shabby. Carpets often had bit on them and needed vacuuming. Bedroom and dining room were cold when we arrived.
