The Red Carpet Inn is a comfortable, if not spotless, motel. The staff is very attentive and friendly and the location is very close to New Brunswick and Edison. The property is, howei, dated and it shows.

The front desk was rude and unhelpful when asking questions. There was no coffee in the morning. Very loud and room unkempt. It was nonsmoking and there were burn holes in the shower curtain.

You are right near Route 1 North. You can do laundry there but to me it looked like a tight spot also the ice machine is in the same place. Nice size room for a single person. The floors are hardwood and the furniture is wood made. A flat screen tv, and a refridgerator in the room. Good for a short stay. A couple of vending machines there.

Room smelled of smoke upon checking in. Pipes have left water stains on floors and something that looked like mold was on the mirrors in the bathroom.

We had a burnt out light and slightly noisy heating system, plus the non-smoking room smelled of smoke, though the cleaning staff did their best to rid the room of the stale smoke smell. The burnt out light was dealt with promptly, as was the request for an iron.
