Country Charm Cottage Sleeps 4 & Free Parking

The cottage was exceptionally cozy which was exactly what we were looking for. The bed and sofas were comfy, and the room temeptatures were easy to control. Everywhere was clean, and the hosts were great and provided quick replies when required. There was an allocated parking space clearly sign posted adjacent to the cottage which was key for our stay. The location was also perfect; a quick walk to the centre of Chester was about 15 minutes... ideal for the Christmas markets.

The breakfast was a little dissapointing in terms of variety and quantity. Apart from a selection of cereals and some unlabelled coffee pods, there were only 4 croissants and a few cereal bars to share between 2 of us over 3 mornings. It would've been nice to have a bit more selection... for example some pain au chocolat as well.

Location. Homely.

It was fine for 2, but would be a bit tight for 4.

Great location. Nicely decorated and presented. Kitchen had lots of useful items. Bed was very comfortable. Always nice to find somewhere where dogs are welcome. Would definitely stay again.

Lots of positives but there were a few things that could be improved. Although the cottage was clean overall, the high touch areas were very dirty and would benefit from a proper clean. The breakfast was not as displayed in the images, and what was included wouldn’t have been enough to cover the full stay. The tv was only of use if watching a select few channels such as Netflix or Amazon Prime - no other apps could be installed to watch other channels. Walls are thin, so noise from neighbours (even detached) can be heard.

Nice property visually and had great heating, good amenities and great breakfast options.

It’s really disappointing because most of the facilities in the property were great. However, we specifically rented this place due to it stating two beds (including a sofa bed). No where on the advertisement did it say you needed to pay an extra £20 in order to use the sofa bed, only after booking the non-refundable booking were you were sent a guide, that we didn’t check until the day when we were checking in, that advised we would need to spend the extra money to use the sofa bed. Extremely disappointing as I was travelling with a friend, and as two grown adults sharing a small double bed was not ideal and or the type of trip we wanted. The response we got about this from the hosts was also completely unacceptable. After pointing out that the extra charge was no where to be seen before booking a non-refundable booking, they said we had a valid point and they would change the advertisement on booking.com (which they still haven’t done). However I would have expected them to allow us to use the sofa bed free of charge since it was false advertising which they did not do. They also forgot to fill up the body wash in the shower.

Everything was fine, but as I suffer with vertigo I found the bed over the lounge a little off putting

Excellent location - an easy 15 min stroll into Chester town centre, 10 min drive to Chester Zoo and handy for North Wales Llandudno/ Conwy etc. The cottage was very comfortable and homely and the kitchen was very well stocked re equipment pots and pans etc. It was nice to receive a plentiful supply of tea and coffee !

I would have preferred a blind at the bathroom window
