The location for me was the best thing about this property. Great neighborhood in its own right and very convenient to the river walk action,while still quiet and with a charming historical feel. Street parking was adequate and instructions on the key pad choreography were thorough and helpful. I loved the generous soaking tub and kitchenette, the architectural details of the building,and the whole place was very clean.

The mattresses was a little saggy and lumpy and the fridge froze some of my food, but those are minor complaints. The main downside of my stay was that after about ten minutes in the room my eyes started watering and my nose started running. Once I located the culprit, a chemically scented plug in,I was able to unplug it which eventually reversed the problem even though I couldn’t open the windows. The entrance to the building was still a stinky gauntlet, but the exposure from that was manageable. I wish it was better understood how bad these are, and that there are several much healthier alternatives. For this reason, exclusively, I probably will not stay here again.

It is an old school apartment building - even had transoms over the doors and a drain board as part of the sink. Used to be quarters for military officers. Very clean. Great location in an old upscale neighborhood. Owner very helpful. It was a quiet place, too. Short walk to Riverwalk. In fact, we walked from Downtown to our neighborhood - about a mile. Very pleasant.

The only odd thing was a large window with Venetian blinds essentially in the bathtub. Just a visual oddity to us.

Interesting old building, attractive area and very convenient location. Comfortable bed and well-equipped kitchen.

Quite a bit of noise on the Friday night. You might need earplugs.

The Madison is a lovely historic building in the King Williams District. Perfect area to walk around and explore, and really get a different look at the DTSA atmosphere. Our room was lovely, and although there isn't a huge parking lot, we got very lucky and never had to park too far from our building. Parking a bit down the street was worth it to stay in this place, and be walking distance from so many cool restaurants/bars/shops.

The staff was great! The neighborhood was beautiful! We took several evening walks and felt totally safe. Several restaurants within walking distance.

Location and the apartment was Perfect
