"On the whole an excellent stay"

9.0

Charming cottage, great location, comfy beds and lounge. Perfect for a stay in Cambridge. Good communication too!

I have mobility issues, so parking 15 minutes walk away was not ideal, and the stairs are very steep. Could do with a grab handle for getting out of the shower. Shower was a bit difficult on temperature control. Having said all that, we had a lovely stay!

"Great bolt hole"

10.0

Great location, very close to city centre and great restaurants. Very clean cosy little cottage, courtyard off the kitchen is a great little suntrap! Lovely open park to the front. Free parking a short walk away!!

Pub noise but we knew about that before we booked as it's identified in the description. Water temperature for shower is a bit erratic, very hot first morning, couldn't alter temp to be cooler. Water pressure was a bit poor but not a deal breaker.

"It was just what we needed, a quiet place to stay in the heart of Cambridge, with our own facilities"

9.0

It was just what we needed, a quiet place to stay in the heart of Cambridge, with our own facilities. It was clean, comfortable and warm. It was winter so we didn't use the lovely little garden areas to the back and front. A place with character. The windows were very sound-proof, though this might not be so useful in the summer when you want them open! They had convenient slatted blinds

Nothing major! Just a few little things: The property description was 2 bathrooms, but in fact it was 1 full bathroom plus a separate WC. The kitchen bench seating is not particularly comfortable for long meals, but certainly practical. The 2nd sofa would be better with a back, ie a proper chair / sofa

"Comfortable cottage, good location. Good communication from management throughout stay."

7.0

Central location. Short walk to very centre of town. Lots of places to eat close by.Opposite large park. Private courtyard at rear. Comfortable beds, good facilities. Clear maps and instructions from managers prior to stay.

Heating was on timer and temperature we could not control and would have preferred a bit more heat at periods. We would have addressed this for a longer stay but only there 2 days. Check in time is a bit late compared to some at 1600 especially in the winter months.

"Great location but beware the noisy pub and single bathroom"

4.0

Easy key access. Very clean. Good TV programme options (Netflix, Virgin etc, etc). Close to centre and plenty of amenities, supermarkets and other shops. Lovely bakery / patisserie / coffee shop 5 mins away. Station quite close – about a 20min walk, but there are buses. Coach stop to London / Norwich etc 5 mins away across green. Good communication direct from the owners.

This is specifically advertised on Booking. Com as a property with ’2 bathrooms with a bath’ - it isn't. I have checked on the owner’s website directly and it clearly states I bathroom, 1 toilet, which is what there is. Overall, the quality of the bedding and towels were disappointing. We were not sure how you'd get 4 people comfortably sitting on the sofa and the 2nd seat was basically a long, padded stool. The owner's own website mentions the pub noise, but Booking.com listing doesn't. This is important, as the pub has a lot of outside seating close to the back bedroom and the noise was very loud past 12pm both Friday and Saturday night. I received 2 emails asking how our first night had gone and details of check-out process the day after we had left – I am sure the delay was down to Booking.com and not the owners as the communication from the owners was good. Unfortunately, the property didn’t meet the expectations set by the Booking.com listing for bathrooms which was the main reason we booked the cottage, so we won’t be booking again.
