Really enjoyed that the unit is was close to the main area of town, a hike but that is to be expected. We walked down and took an Uber back. The Wi-Fi worked great, the beds were comfy and the kitchen was pretty well stocked. Having the 5gallon filtered water was wonderful. The half bath on the entry level was very nice to have. The views from the terrace were nice. We did not try the grill.

The biggest thing to note is the bedroom / bathroom layout. It is a shared bathroom between the 2 bedrooms - which if you know what to expect that is fine. There is nothing that tells you that information and for this particular group it was awkward. There is a 2nd bathroom on the very top level by the outdoor terrace, which is great as long as its not raining or the middle of the night! There were a few minor issues at check-in and the host was very responsive to those. We had trouble with rain coming into the main bedroom since the sliding door didn't seal and there was not hot water in the kitchen and the faucet handle was broken - not responsive to those items. The furniture in the main living area was not comfortable at all.

The outdoor patios were lovely with wonderful views. The kitchen was equipped with everything you could need. It is located in the historic center, so you can walk everywhere. Be forewarned that this house is located on one of the steepest roads in San Miguel. We always took a taxi back to the house because of the steepness.

The pictures on the website make the living room much more attractive than it is. It had clunky, uncomfortable furniture. You are only two houses away from a main road out of town, so there is a lot of noise from that road when the windows are open.

"It was a wonderful time and experience with family."

It was very comfy. The access to the dishes/coffee/washer. Loved the rooftop and the view. We also loved the set up and the cleanness.

The up hill when coming from downtown to get to the property.

"Perfect place for climbers who don’t mind street noise."

7.0

They stocked the kitchen with lots of water, olive oil, salt, coffee and espresso. The kitchen utensils and dishes including storage containers was very helpful. The view is very nice from both the second level outside of the bedrooms and the third level. WiFi was good throughout the home. Beds were comfortable. Water gets nice and hot.

The climb up to the address from El Centro is intense and we are hikers. Doing it more than once a day is a serious workout. The noise from the traffic is significant. You can hear the church bells in the distance. The screen door to the main bedroom does not seal so if you want air flow you may get some mosquitoes and/or wasps finding their way in. This can be fixed so hopefully by the next guest it will be. Also the bathroom has some black mold and does smell when the room is not ventilated - this it’s extra important to replace that screen door - the glass sliding door that is the entrance way to that bedroom could use a door pull or handle to make it conducive to opening more easily. Finally, just an fyi as well the glass pitcher in the kitchen needs to be replaced as it is cracked. Could be more light in the top floor though we didn’t turn on the twinkle lights.

"A mixed stay"

6.0

The property was clean, orderly and well stocked, clearly the cleaners do a very good job. Having a washer/dryer was a bonus. The roof terrace was very nice. The house is spread over three levels, and was handy having a toilet on each level. We stayed in winter, and having extra fluffy blankets and heaters in each room was nice and cosy. The house is located a short walk downhill to the cathedral, main square and restaurants. The house is traditionally Mexican.

Dealing with Holt was a pain-in-the-backside. KYC was so difficult, more nonsense than trying to open up a bank account - all while travelling with patchy connectivity. Once Holt had our money they then wanted pictures of passports, selfies and numerous emails back and forth. On arriving at the property we spent an hour trying to gain entrance, only to find out that the incorrect house number had been sent. FYI - the house number is 17A - not 17! Waiting on the curb for a local lady to come and let us into the property was not much fun. Second day, called Holt to have the thermostat on the hot water turned up, which they attended to ASAP. The house is located very close to a noisy main road - fortunately we had earplugs for sleeping.
