Dear future travellers, BE WARNED! Although the price might be appealing, this hotel is not what it seems to be. The hotel writes reviews on behalf of their customers. They graded themselves a 10/10 ON BEHALF OF US. However, we would’ve graded them a 2/10. This is apparently how they boost their average grade in Booking.com. The whole experience was bad. The only positive thing was that the bed was comfy. Now that they wrote OUR review though, we grade them a 1/10. Below we further explain our experience. The hotel goes by many different names. The address in Booking is wrong. Before arrival, we asked for a pin in Google, so that we would be able to find it. However, we received an automatic message back. The golden temple is a 25 (!!) minute walk instead of a 5 minute walk. They advertise with the 5 minute walk, even in their hotel title! The bed wasn’t clean. We found hair on the sheets. The bathroom was way less luxurious than was advertised. Also, no warm water. After lots of requests from our part, they finally repaired it. The worst part was the personnel. This hotel is run by a couple of unmannered, unhelpful, uninterested teenagers. They didn’t welcome us, didn’t help us out when we had questions, were just hanging around in the lobby, and generally simply didn’t care. They barely speak English. In some other cases, hoteliers are willing to communicate non-verbally, then it also works out. However, in this case, they didn’t even try. Fifteen minutes before check-out time (10:45 a.m.), one of the reception boys called us that checking out time was approaching. We were going to be on time anyway. It is way more appropriate to call 5 minutes after check-out time (11:05 a.m.) The hotel replies in the exact same automatic reaction to negative feedback. You can see that yourself. They write that they will address things, but they don’t. We believe that the positive comments are actually written by themselves. Horrible stay. Don’t stay there.

The breakfast was excellent

Nothing special to like in this property I am sure I will not stay there anymore We noticed that the water in the toilet wasn’t enough to use. I meaned very low pressure. 15 minutes waiting for a full bucket. We informed three times in the reception but no response. Stayed 2 nights and 3 days. Hotel parking not available. The outside area not clean. The reception staff shouting their staffs very loudly in front of guests. It’s not fair

Cleanliness , hotel had a certain feel of luxury, very good bed, nice bathroom, food service always available, honest staff. Very close to trainstation, not far from center (but way more than 5 minutes).

The reason I give 6 score: - the location on booking is wrong, it's much more north - the real location is not provided after booking, even when asked - not even the name of the hotel is provided, which is Sagar Hotel - it's for sure not 5 min walk to the golden temple as the title says, 20 minutes is more realistic Getting to the hotel is pretty essential. Provide the location!!! Had to read other comments and spend precious time on streetview to find it.
