"Very enjoyable Easter break."

8.0

We booked 3 cottages for 4 families and loved the positioning of them. Our children could visit each other safely without supervision. Lots of safe outdoor space for them to run about. Just what we were looking for Also children’s play area and pub 3 minutes walk away

"Beautiful Countryside Stay for Large Family"

10.0

Beautiful property comes with everything needed for a family weekend away. We were a large group and stayed across 3 of the cottage - all of which were exceptional. Staff messaged throughout to ensure our stay was fabulous. Would definitely recommend and stay again.

"A lovely weekend getaway to walk in the surrounding areas. The cottage acted as a base, that was out of the busy hustle"

"Honest Review..."

5.0

The location is a nice place, which isn't too far from Lake District, roughly about 30mins drive. They have parking facilities there, The cottage is small but cosy place will be ideal for a small group or family. The cottages both Highcroft and Windale (names of the properties) are quite small, difficult to tell from the pictures, so I would say maximum for a group of no more 8 people for a comfortable stay, (although on the website it mentions it can accommodate 13 to 14 people). Overall the experience was good, although dampened by the central heating issue. The place was nice and clean and well looked after location is near the Lake District.

The key thing to note is that this property consists of two separate cottages, not just one, this was a huge disappointment for us, as we were planning to stay together. This detail is not obvious from the photos, and there was no mention of it in the description. While the cottages are next to each other, there's no indoor access between them. This could be inconvenient for families or groups expecting to stay together without having to go outside to see each other. Our main issue was, the central heating wasn’t working. Despite contacting the property management several times (who were polite and courteous), they were unable to fix the problem. After contacting the owner, Jonathan via messages (very slow response times) Someone did come by late the next day (Rachel, the neighbour), but they couldn't resolve the issue either. As a result, we had no central heating for the two nights we stayed. I also saw another reviewer mentioning this same issue, which is disappointing as it clearly still hasn't been addressed. I would recommend avoiding this property in the winter months.
