From your room facing the river you had an amazing view! You could see hot air balloons and paragliders every morning and evening. It was gorgeous. Beds were comfy.

We came on New Years Eve and the fireworks were loud! I did not include that on my rating though. The biggest thing is I had requested room service only to remove trash for 3 days straight and to replenish toilet paper and towels. No one came. We had to go find it ourselves. They said they'd bring it up to us but never did.

Hotel is a bit of a con. Despite being called ‘river view’ only the top rooms get a view, and they allocate these on first come basis. All rooms have the same pictures despite them knowing majority of of guests won’t get the view. Upon checking in, we were told that after everyone checks in they come down to complain about their rooms and we just told if we don’t like it we can cancel the booking and leave. The boys behind the reception were good and moved us and gave us a £1 discount… but clearly the manager or the hotel is happy to not accurately show what rooms you’ll get. Bathroom also pretty bad, hence why there’s no picture in the photos, thought I’d share a photo! Overall - disappointing.

It has a great view only if you have the upper floors. For the low price, it is of good value. Great location to most places.

The breakfast was not good though it is inclusive/free. The furnishing of the room and the hotel were very old and could use some updating. It was not very welcoming and the service was just slightly above the bare minimum. There are no elevators, and the steps of the stairs are very steep.

Friendly staff at the reception they assisted me with booking a tuk tuk to the train station. The view from my room was beautiful

The room and especially the bathroom were disappointing to say the least.. Super old and outdated, broken or half way broken, the hair dryer was not working but I did not even bother to deal with it. No power sockets in convenient places there was just one high on the wall (on the power panel) and two on the side of one of the beds blocked by the bed’s wooden headboard so I was unable to use them. I did not see any breakfast buffets but again I was too tired to even bother asking around to find out if there is breakfast at all. For Laos it is not a cheap hotel so I would expect a lot more

Fairly central, quiet and comfortable. For views ask for the second or third floor. Then the view of the mountain range is fantastic. Sang the manager is most helpful.

This hotel truly exceeded my expectations. The panoramic views of the river and mountains were absolutely stunning and created a calming environment throughout my stay. The atmosphere is incredibly relaxed, perfect for anyone seeking a peaceful retreat. What really stood out was the hospitality—the team went out of their way to ensure I was comfortable. Definitely a place I'd return to!

I had a wonderful time staying at this hotel in Vang Vien. The setting is unbeatable, with picturesque views of the river and mountains that provide an incredibly relaxing atmosphere. The property has a laid-back vibe, making it the perfect place to unwind. The staff was exceptionally friendly and attentive, always eager to make sure my needs were met. Highly recommend this place for a tranquil escape!
