Charming 3 Bed Apartment in Old Town

The location of the apartment was good, just off the Royal Mile, and reasonably priced which was why we chose it. The kitchen was well-equipped. The living room with two sofas was reasonably comfortable for a group of four, but would be a bit tight if there were 6 persons.

The entrance well to the apartment was dim and not very clean. It was a bit trying to lug our luggagge up 3 flights of dimly-lit narrow stairs, and down again when we left. The room facing the main street is noisy throughout the night and early morning, with noise of vehicle tyres on cobble stones, ambulance/police sirens, and noisy pedestrains, so whoever sleeps there will not have a good night's sleep unless he is a heavy sleeper and can sleep through the din. The room can be much improved if double-glazed windows were installed. The smaller shower room had a sink so small it can be used only to wash one's hands. We had to use the kitchen sink to brush our teeth. The shower was clean though, had a nice rainshower head and had good water pressure. Overall, the apartment served its function for a short stay in Edinburgh.

Fantastic location and very comfortable 3 bedrooms. Having the second bathroom was also great.

We didn’t read the small print and realized too late that it was on the 3rd floor. No problem if you are young and fit. We however are 3 older women and it was a struggle for us to get the luggage up the stairs.

Excellent location which was perfect for the fringe festival. The apartment had everything we needed and was well equipped.

I don’t like leaving negative comments but I think it’s important that people know that it’s extremely difficult to sleep in the front bedroom. The noise from the road is so loud all night and the windows are single glazed, so we couldn’t sleep even with ear plugs. We had to take it in turns to sleep in that room. Hopefully this can be fixed easily by doubling the windows.
