The location is wonderful. It is self catering and everything one would need was there. The whole place is really great. Outside is super and inside we could see the loving attention to detail without it being overloaded. We had a warm welcome although we were several hours early. :) Just perfect. Wir können es nur weiterempfehlen!

It would be easier to ask what we didn't like! Loved everything. It was, so far, the best. Beautiful location, peaceful, very peaceful. The hut had absolutely everything we needed & could have wanted too. They had thought of everything!

Had a very enjoyable, peaceful stay at Drakes Mead retreat. The shepherd's hut is extremely comfortable and clean, and we loved the surroundings with all the trees and wildlife. There is no wifi and very little phone signal so you have to be OK with being out of contact while you're there. Axminster town is about a 15 minute walk away if you need to get a signal or anything else. All in all it's a great spot for couples or anyone on a solo break who wants a bit of peace and quiet in good quality surroundings. We appreciated that fuel for the fire pit, tea, coffee, milk and biscuits were provided. Bed is king size, TV has a decent signal & all the usual Freeview channels. Shower works well.

Only thing I couldn't find which would've been useful is a hairdryer. Other than that everything we needed was provided. The whole place is in good order, everything is new & clean.

We absolutely loved our stay at Drakes Mead. Our shepherds hut was immaculate and so well equipped. The owners Sarah and Martin were discreet but very welcoming. Another plus was the comfortable bed and lovely en suite. We’d love to go back….very soon 😊

The facilities were amazing , incredibly clean and maintained , its everything we could wish for and more The hosts provided, linen,towels, tea, coffee and sugar plus a lovely bottle of milk fresh from the farm more than we hoped for The bed was so comfortable and plenty of room The fridge and small freezer were a great bonus,plus microwave, toaster and cooker hob The views and walks in the countryside from the property were the icing on the cake and of course, the cows mooing and the sheep's baaing in the adjoining field Amazing hosts we feel like we've had a restful break , it's a shame we didn't stay for longer
