Drakes Mead Retreat - Shepherd's Hut

Drakes mead was everything we wanted and more, it exceeded our expectations. The kitchen was well equipped for such a quaint accommodation. We loved the fire pit and the fact we had everything to light it on the first night. We were really surprised with the milk and biscuits considering we were only staying for 2 nights The accommodation had total privacy and country views. We loved the fact we didn’t have WiFi as we enjoyed listening to the football on the radio. Would definitely book again.

close to townby car, lots of walks and close by activities, very private in the countryside

harder for second person to get in and out of bed, with positioning. We did manage.

Very comfortable cabin, with a great layout and everything needed in the kitchen for a short stay. The sofa was comfy, as was the bed. Great location for exploring the coast! We were well rested and the owners lovely people.

This isn’t criticism, however I think more could be made of the outdoors seating area, with some chairs to go by the fire pit and to open up that fabulous view that is there behind the brambles. It’s balance of privacy and views though. As others have said a hairdryer would have been useful. WiFi would be good as Vodafone signal is patchy at best and only worked outside really.

Beautiful little hut and lovely secluded area, 11 out of 10 easily, and would definitely come back.

Shepherds hut with a modern touch. Has everything you need. Lovely and clean, hot shower and a cosy bed. Ideal for unwinding and to relax. Hosts kept in touch to see if there was anything you needed.

This is not a dislike just our preference, that it would have been nice to see more of the countryside and view, and maybe a couple of chairs to sit around the fire pit.

The property was very comfortable with a lovely bed, I slept so well! There were some nice touches which made you feel considered as a guest including milk, biscuits and kitchen basics as well as logs for the fire pit. Easy communication with access code to the shepherds hut so was ‘contactless’ with the host but a folder of contact information if required included as well as information on local activities.

No WiFi, and the bathroom had some hair on the shower edge so could have been cleaner.

I wanted a relaxing break in beautiful countryside and this little Shepherd's Hut delivered in spades! It had everything I needed for my little getaway. Comfy, cozy and well equipped. Perfect.

This is such a small thing but, the only thing I would have liked to have was a "squeegee" in the shower so I could have wiped down the shower screen after I'd used it. Other than that, I wanted for nothing.

We were really happy with everything nothing to complian about really, hosts were also very good as respected our privacy but also let us know they were there if we need anything, lovely surrounding areas and nice walks around we had a really good weekend.

Could of done with wifi as I struggled with signal in the whole area, however was nice to get away from it for a bit.
