The Cow Shed - Rural Barn Conversion with Hot Tub

Cowshed is very nicely done out, clean, and had everything that you need for a self catering stay

We are a mum and daughter and booked this two night stay specifically because we wanted a hot tub weekend. Check-in isn’t until 4 pm and we didn’t know that it would take us so long to get the hot tub working. We struggled to light the fire, and by the time we did and then it took several hours to warm the water up - it was nearly midnight before we managed to get in the tub on the first night. On the second day we lit the fire earlier, and then it ended up so hot that we couldn’t get in it for several hours - so it was another very late one by the time we got it to the right temperature. For anybody that is used to woodfired hot tubs, I’m sure they would’ve coped better. We weren’t used to them, and really struggled. Given that the hot tub was the point of our special birthday weekend as mother and daughter, it kind of spoilt it for us. More instructions (such as just how long it’s likely to take to warm up) would’ve been really helpful. Having the hot tub warmed up before we got there would’ve been a helpful touch. The owners wanted to charge more for a slightly earlier arrival, on the basis that they said they ‘needed time to get the hot tub ready’. It’s a shame the hot tub wasn’t ready for our normal time arrival, therefore. We also felt by the end of day 2 that if we have wanted to have a hot tub the following morning it would’ve been like sitting in the same bathwater for three days! Took the shine off for us.

What an amazing accommodation, absolutely no noise or light pollution. Very clean and has everything you could possibly need. Bed comfortable and shower was lovely! Extremely dog friendly, and Rachel was fantastic! I've never felt so relaxed. Thank you, Rachel!

The walk to the footpath but once on it was an amazing peaceful walk. Wish outdoor seating was a bit more comfortable. A sun lounger would have been amazing.

Stunning location. It had everything we needed and more. A Quiet, peaceful place. So so dog friendly and just beautiful. The hot tub was incredible and I loved that it had instructions and how to use it best.

Great, peaceful, rural location, with lovely views. Wonderfully appointed accommodation with everything needed and more for a comfortable stay. Very helpful hosts who were easy to get in touch with and responded swiftly.

Whilst overall the accommodation was clean, particularly the main areas and surfaces, cleanliness could be improved in other areas: things like marks on the bathroom mirror and the fronts of kitchen cupboards, crumbs on the footstool, quite a few cobwebs around.

The Cow Shed was cosy, very comfortable and it had everything we needed to make the most of our stay. We loved the quiet, countryside location and enjoyed being able to take our little dog for a walk on the field right by the property. The bed was very comfortable, we appreciated the choice of pillow as my partner prefers a hard pillow while I like softer, and the shower was particularly good.

We really enjoyed our stay in The Cow Shed. What a beautiful little place, cosy and modern with all its facilities. We slept really well and had a relaxed time. We will definitely recommend The Cow Shed to our English and Dutch friends and family. I would have loved to have the log fire on, but the weather was a bit too warm for that.
