Rollestone New Forest (HOT TUB)

We had a lovely stay at Rollerston as a family. The property was very spacious and well laid out for a family and we especially enjoyed the peaceful setting and glorious view. There is a corner shop at the end of the road which is very well stocked for essentials, two pubs very close by and the property is right on the edge of the forest, so perfectly placed for beautiful walks. We were a party of six adults, two infants and dogs and the place worked very well for us...would stay again.

There were a few things to note/that would have made our stay even better: The bins outside were full when we arrived and no instructions about putting them out or when bin day was so we had to leave rubbish bags piled up when we left too - not ideal in hot weather! Kitchen was missing a peeler and corkscrew and there were only three flutes for fizz. It would be useful to have a couple more medium- large saucepans, especially if there were 8-10 guests. I mention these things as they're easily and cheaply rectified. There's no BBQ which seems an odd omission. The sunloungers pictured in the details were not there - they have been damaged but assume they will be replaced as they would be nice to have. The dining table and outside seating was fine for our party of six, but there would not be enough room for 10. Be aware of the extra charge for the hot tub (it's mentioned in the small print but I thought it was included as stated in the title of the listing, so didn't realise it is £50 extra until I received the pre-arrival info). We were unlucky in that the hot tub wasn't working when we arrived. The hosts offered a refund but we were keen to be able to use it (part of the reason for booking this property). They did get someone to sort it it out on the third day of our stay so we were able to use for the remaining two days. The double bed was very soft (personal preference I know) but the room is big and it would be even better if replaced with a king bed.

Lovely views, big rooms, spotlessly clean, comfortable beds, nice bathrooms, plenty of parking, very peaceful, really close to the New Forest , lots of extras like washing up liquid, dishwasher tablets, loo rolls etc

Lovely spacious modern property with excellent views over horse paddocks. Good location for visiting Salisbury and the New Forest. 5 large bedrooms and the house feels very spacious and well kitted. We enjoyed the wood burner, hot tub and sitting on the patio looking over the paddocks.

There is a separate charge for the hot tub which is misleading as not clearly stated on Booking.com (in the fine print) and payment of the charge has not been straight forward as had to be done separately from Booking.com. A BBQ would have been a great addition. The negative comments are minor and we would easily stay at the property again.

Beautiful house with fantastic views and lovely friendly horses. Great kitchen area for cooking with all mod cons. This was our second stay here as we loved it so much the first time. Hot tub fab as well. Looking like an extension is coming … will be back again for sure!
