"Beautiful home, wonderful host and amazing scenery"

10.0

The Old Rectory B&B is a charming place to stay for a break in the beautiful landscape of Monmouthshire. Liz, the wonderful host, is so warm and welcoming and made our stay even more memorable. The room we had was lovely, with the comfiest bed imaginable! And the breakfast Liz made each morning was delicious, with lots of extras like cereal, toast and even homemade marmalade! We will miss Liz and the Old Rectory and look forward to coming again!

We had a wonderful stay at The Old Rectory. Liz is a fantastic host, she was caring and considerate and made sure we had everything we needed. We had lots of laughter together and by the time we left, she was more like a friend. The property is a quirky old building, but with all modern facilities required. Liz has a great knowledge of the local area for both places of interest to visit, nearby restaurants, etc. We enjoyed our breakfast every morning, particularly the eggs which come from her own chickens. We would definitely enjoy staying at The Old Rectory again.

There wasn't anything we didn't like

"For those who seek a friendly and ideally picturesque experience of the Welsh countryside—this is it!"

10.0

This was our favorite stop on our trip through Wales for several reasons beginning with a charming host who was both helpful with local tips and also truly engaging 😊! The home and gardens are sweetly nestled next to a Norman rectory complete with its churchyard and ancient 1k+ year old yew and oak trees—lovely and intimate beyond words. Our delicious, homemade, full Welsh breakfast set us right for a big day of adventure even though we did not want to leave! This is one place that we would like to return to in the future, as it is truly special and an ideal Welsh countryside experience!

We loved everything about our stay at the Old Rectory!!!

"An exceptional mini break away"

10.0

Our host Liz was expectional! Nothing was too much for her in making us feel welcome in her beautiful home. Her 2 dogs made us feel right at home and we loved spending time with all of them and sharing their space. The most amazing views and surrounds. Definitely a country mini break away we both needed. We will be returning as soon as possible

That we didn't stay longer.

"A great stay in a beautiful house with a lovely hostess."

10.0

We enjoyed our stay in the B of Liz. The house is very nice and beautiful and Liz is a great hostess (helps you when you need something) with a good sense of humor. The breakfast was delicious. Near the house you can swim in the river. The garden is beautiful. There is a special cozy sitting room for guests. Nearby is a nice town (Abercavenny) with, among other things, a good pizzeria. Nearby is a lovely pub with good food. In the area you can go for a walk and visit churches.
