Dalesgate Hotel - Self Check In

The room was tidy and comfortable plenty of tea making facilities

shower room could do with a tidy up hot water slow to run soap dispensers awkward to use

Check-in was available at any time of the day because you just tapped in the number to get in. And there was plenty of parking for the car.

This was during a really hot period of time and on the top floor the rooms were absolutely baking where downstairs they were a lot cooler. I felt that the hotel just had the lack of general upkeep… There were one or two coat hangers that were slightly falling off the door and there was a broken floorboard underneath the carpet in my room. There were no staff roaming around except at breakfast and that potentially did mean that if you want to ask something like about a broken TV remote control there was nobody really to talk to except at the end of a phone line

When you arrive the area outside the hotel back entrance is to put it kindly 'scruffy'. I certainly wondered what we had let ourselves in for. The security code was pretty good. With no staff available there are enough signs to get you to your room. The rooms are adequate. We had no hot water so the bath and shower were less than useful. So why did we give such a high score. The breakfast as noted by us and someone else we overheard was 'The Best Breakfast They Had Ever Had!' The choices for cold breakfast were many. The cooked English breakfast was amazing. Cooked to order with good amounts of bacon etc. As the lovely lady who cooks (and we believe does all the housework) says she doesn't allow anyone to leave the breakfast table feeling hungry. Her care made up for all the shortcomings and is responsible for the high score. Thankyou so much for an excellent stay.

Clean, Self check-in was handy Excellent breakfast room, clean, staff amazingly helpful and friendly. Great selection for breakfast really well cooked delicious.

Funny not meeting anyone because of the self check in. It all worked well. Large room, bit of road noise but not late on. Very generous tea and coffee in rooms. Excellent breakfast, large portions of egg and delicious bacon. Friendly lady at breakfast.

Room a little tired.

Breakfast was amazing and had do much to offer. Slight hiccup with our room, but this was sorted with a 20 minute phone call

It would benefit if a lift was installed

Breakfast was v good , location was good

Bed was a bit too soft for my liking .
