Moonrise Dome - La Bruyere farm

The property is situated on a magical farm in Tulbagh surrounded by breathtaking mountain scenes. There were the cutest little field mice and so many different birds and natural treasures to discover! The shower has a stunning view of pine trees and mountains and the stars are an absolute wonder to behold. The dome itself is extremely unique and if you love nature and adventure, this is a must!

The property isn’t 100% kitted for winter. It was extremely cold on our first night, and some added blankets, outside heaters etc. would have been great. This is set on a farm, so if you’re a clean freak it’s not going to tickle your fancy as the outside will inevitably find its way in, but we absolutely loved it! Some small improvements could include having hand soap in the kitchen, new towels (these were a bit past their due date and I think for the price should be upgraded), and some extra heating for winter.

Plugs in the bedroom did not work and/or heater did not work neither did the electric blanket work. The gas braai did not work. Only hand towels in the bathroom and no shampoo. Premises need a proper clean. We paid for 3 nights but left after 2. Not an ideal winter destination as everything is separate and disjointed - kitchen/living, separate from bedroom, separate from bathroom and stairs in between all of them. Need to go outside to get from one area to the other.

There were not enough bowls and plates. We used the kitchen extensively and brought a lot of our own things luckily. Also wish we had booked the sauna earlier as there were no spots available.

No complaints at all: just a note as it was not clear to us prior to arrival - the dome (bedroom) is situated on top of the deck / kitchen area. There is no to access to the dome above from the inside i.e. have to walk upstairs on the side of the building and enter the dome via the back door. Bathroom / Shower and toilet are also separate small buildings located behind the dome.

What an unique, peaceful and beautiful place with stunning views!! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay!! Thank you so much.
