Peak View - Modern Cottage

It was clean, warm & comfortable. The beds & bedding are super. Good quality towels were supplied & hand wash was in both bathrooms & WC. There was loo roll, washing up liquid, etc left for us, & a welcome pack supplied. The kitchen was bright & has a nice table & chairs so it’s great to eat in there over looking the garden & hill. It is well equipped with toaster, microwave, plates cutlery etc. The house made a good base for the places we wanted to visit, & we found plenty to see & do locally.

Although the kitchen is well equipped with most things, there is a shortage of cooking utensils. The frying pan we found was enormous & looked like it had seen better days. Maybe a couple of newer smaller/varying sizes could be added. We certainly would have found them useful. We struggled slightly to lock the front door on the 1st day. Maybe it was us, but it did seem there was a knack to it. Maybe a check on the lock & if necessary a new one fitted would be helpful for future guests

Great location situated 5 mins from Buxton, ideal for all the popular Peak District walks.

Modern accommodation, great location, quiet area, very clean ,nice, and modern kitchen ,nice garden, very good communication with the owner. Mark and Simon were very helpful and friendly . We spend very nice family time 😁😁 Highly recommend 👌 👍

Peaceful location. I will recommend it for others. Recommend The Church Inn in Chelmorton closeby for good food.

The dead looking corner of the garden. Although a suntrap l didn't feel like sitting there. An attractive bed of shade loving perennials or dwarf shrubs might make it a perfect location for chilling or for eating outside. Just a thought!

A beautifully presented property. Light, airy and clean with everything we needed for a weekend break. Off road parking and a patio and garden for us to enjoy. Lovely walks behind the property and around an hours walk into Buxton if you are feeling energetic.

A welcome pack with more information about the local area including restaurants, footpaths and bus services would have been a bonus.

The property was well equipped with comfortable quality modern furniture. and equipment. It was on the edge of Buxton with easy access to either the town or the countryside. The manager was quick to respond when we had problems with the heating.

I have never stayed in a property where I could not control the heating. It was a bitterly cold February and the heating when we arrived was set at 19. My friend in their 90s needed more heat in the evening and so did I! I texted the manager because there were no instructions on how to adjust it and he explained it was done remotely and put it up immediately. 3 days into our stay the heating went wrong and the temperature dropped to 17. Again I texted the manager but unfortunately mobile signal there is very poor so he didn't get it until 24 hours later. He came round and sorted it immediately and was very apologetic but explained that the owner wanted the heating controlled remotely. I know he was going to feed this back so hopefully this won't be a problem in the future.
