Spacious Oak Cabin with Hot Tub - Devon

The location of the lodge was perfect. The hot tub is a fantastic size, best we’ve had in the places we’ve hired.

The cleanliness was terrible. I felt the need to vacuum as soon as we arrived. The bathrooms could have been better. Behind both toilets was pretty gross. Loads of plates needed washing before we used them, and when I took a saucepan out of the cupboard it was covered in something brown! Such a shame as the lodge itself is very nice. We wouldn’t stay there again though.

The hot tub was great

Only 1 roll of toilet paper (half in each toilet) for 6 ladies was not enough. I know in autumn leaves are a nightmare, but the decking was definitely not cleared before we arrived so it just got worse and they were everywhere

The lodge was dirty.had to clean the fridge before putting my shopping away , and I couldn't use the freezer due to the build-up of ice. Dust and rubbish in the bedroom windows dirty, bed so uncomfortable that we slept on the sofa on which we found the springs were coming through. The bed sheet didn't fit on a double bed. For self-catering accommodation, lack of trays for cooking . We arrived on Monday and reported to reception, the housekeeper did not reply until Thursday. We left a day earlier. Will not be returning.

The cabin was very beautiful, spacious, and very clean. It is situated very close to the shop, restaurants and leisure centre which really helped. It had everything we needed apart from bathroom hand-wash. I would highly recommend it and definitely will be booking the same cabin again in the future. We went as a family of five and there was more than enough space for all of us.

I would recommend taking hand soap, washing up liquid, toiletries, etc. The resort does have a shop for basic items, but it's a little pricey.

Very clean everything you wanted for lovely break

Really lovely lodge....good location which afforded us some privacy. Spacious and comfortable.. well laid out and especially loved the hot tub and decking. The kitchen had everything we needed. The countryside itself is stunning which is evident during walks.

The oven and extractor was filthy. The first time we used it, it smoked so badly that it set the fire alarm off. There were apparently defects eg broken toilet seat, broken shower tap, broken curtain rails. We were somewhat inconvenienced on Sunday by two maintenance men who spent 3 hours fixing these defects. We had to go out as we felt uncomfortable. They mentioned the defects had been reported a week before so really they should have been sorted before we arrived. One of the men was there when we first arrived on friday, and popped back a couple of times before finally coming back on the Sunday to spend 3 hours there. This is somewhat unacceptable really, especially as its not cheap to stay there. The hot tub had a mind of its own, and sometimes the jets were still going even after we tried to switch them off. The lodge itself could do with a bit of TLC like repainting the bedrooms as the main bedroom looked as though it had water marks on the walls. The basics should have been provided, like extra toilet rolls, tea, coffee and perhaps a pint of milk in the fridge to welcome guests, like I've seen in many Airbnbs. The bathroom sinks were far too big. I could hardly put anything around the sink so some of my toiletries had to be put on the toilet cistern! There is no need to have such large and wide sinks and although modern, were impractical.

Location apart from Booking.com stated private pool with view of which there wasn't. Hot tub was very nice.

For the price of £119 per night i expected use of at least indoor pool to be included and not an extra cost. Various maintenance issues. 1.Bath unusable due to worn and faulty plunger plug not retaining water in bath. 2 shower head in main bathroom needs replacing. 3 Toilet seat in main bathroom broken and falling off. 4 Shower head in ensuite bathroom badly limescaled. 5 Headboard in main bedroom fell off of wall mounting on one end on 3rd day of stay. All of this pointed out to Amanda at Devon Holidays who apologised for everything. 6 Finally on last day the freezer outer door came apart as missing sliding door hinge and screws. DUE to all of these issues i would expect at least a 50% refund of the of the £119 per night i paid for this property..dissapointed with all of these issues as we were expecting a Beautiful Oak Cabin with use of private pool as described on your website when i made the booking.

Lovely family holiday- loved the hot tub, everything was very comfortable.
