Arteria Madrid Gran Vía

Al ver la fachada envejecida se me cayó el alma a los pies, pero una vez te adentras es genial, hay dos cocinas completas, sala de TV con sofá cómodo y torre de lavandería 👌, sin olvidarnos las dos terrazas del ático perfectamente decoradas y por supuesto la ubicación, al lado de plaza España y paralela a Gran Vía. Además de la amabilidad del gerente y personal.

The location.

1. Far too expensive for what is offered. This is essentially just a room with very limited services. Similar self-service accommodations can be found much cheaper elsewhere (e.g.AirBnB). 2. This is NOT a hotel, and this is not clearly advertised. The listing, particularly the photo showing a "Reception" sign (doesn't exist anymore), creates the impression of a hotel. In reality, there is no reception and no staff on site. If I had wanted an Airbnb-style stay, I would have booked one. 3. Check-in was a mess. The online registration process was difficult, with the required link repeatedly disappearing from Booking.com. Although I was told I could check in on site, there was nobody available. Fortunately, the cleaning lady let me into the building. It then took over 2 hours and more than 35 phone calls before someone finally resolved the issue. WhatsApp support is only available between 9:30am-7:30p.m. 4. The housekeeping fee and amenities are misleading. During a 7-night stay for two people, we received only one set of towels each, three small rolls of toilet paper, and two tiny bottles of shampoo. No cleaning, fresh towels, or replenished supplies were provided. When I asked about the €15 "housekeeping fee", I was told it only covers the final cleaning after check-out, while cleaning during the stay costs extra. 5. Poor cleanliness. No room cleaning was provided throughout the week. The room became dirty quickly, the bathrooms were not particularly clean, and there were small bugs at night. No broom or cleaning tools available! 6. Elevator barely working. My nearly 70-year old mother and I had to carry our luggage to the 4th floor. Overall: The listing should clearly state that this is a self-service room rental, not a hotel, and that room cleaning, fresh towels, additional toiletries, and toilet paper replenishment are not included.

The location could not better, close to main street Gran Via, the Palace, food district, Lagos and if you want to enjoy the night life there is always a bar or discotek at a walkable distance.

The air quality inside my room was horrible, with an air conditioning system that definitely has seen better days. Wouldn't be be a problem for a night stay but for longer stays it's definitely a problem.
